At this point, everyone knows how notoriously protective Nintendo is of its intellectual property (IP). The company has been going after fan-made projects like and , as well as websites illegally distributing Nintendo game ROMs for years now (and for understandable reasons, of course). Law firm Wildwood Law Group LLC, a frequent representative of Nintendo, has filed complaints with Google, YouTube, and even Reddit in an attempt to weed out all posts and publications referencing the game's PC port and remove them. Essentially, it is going to be extremely difficult (if not borderline impossible) for one to find any YouTube videos or discussion posts taking about the game. As of the time of the writing, there may be a few out there on the internet, however it's safe to say th♛at they will be removed promptly.

Additionally, it's safe to assume🌟 that hosting websites that had the game file on them have also been told to remove the file and delete it due to copyright claims. Even if there is a slip-up and one or two hosting websites have been overlooked🗹, they are certain to do the right thing so that they won't have to deal with any legal action.

With Nintendo going after the Super Mario 64 PC port, the company isn🌜't neceဣssarily trying to draw hatred towards itself. On the contrary, it's simply protecting its IP and making sure that any possible ports don't get distributed online for free due to piracy reasons. In the meantime, fans of the game can only continue to wait patiently until a remastered version of the game comes out for the Nintendo Switch.
