168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Super Mario Bros. Wonder has an aesthetic of something old, something new, bringing the style of the classic Mario game manuals into 3D alongside radical redesigns that see characters more closely resemble their 2D counterparts. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:It's a welcome change, but it goes dee❀per than that, as fans have noticed a couple of references to an old tie-in anime movie called Peach-hime Kyushutsu Dai Sakusen! (or Great Mission to Rescue Princess Peach).
Released in 1986, this Super Mario Bros. tie-in told the story of... drumroll please; Princess Peach getting kidnapped. Daring today, aren't we? Mario and Luigi embark on a quest to rescue her in classic Mario Bros. fashion, but it ends by introducing an all-new character, Haru. Throughout the movie, he takes the role of a dog called Kibidango, but once Peach's necklace is returned, he reverts back to his proper form, revealing that he is the prince of the Flower Kingdom. It turns out that Bowser had turned him into a dog to marry Peach in his place, and with the revelation that this dog was her fiance all along, Mario leaves heartbroken.
As spotted by Reddit user Basic_Passion_7415, Super Mario Bros. Wonder briefly showed Luigi standing next to a level in the overworld with the caption, "Welcome to the Flower Kingdom!" There's also a green creature of some kind latching onto Luigi's back, which OP thinks is Kibidango. They're green instead of blue and have stubbier legs, but there is something of a resemblance. Maybe we'll see Haru return, finally bringing the anime tie-in's story to Mario games 37 years later.
Mind you, the prospect of bringing Haru back to the world of Mario isn't going down well in the comments; "FOR THE [...] LOVE OF GOD DON'T BRING THAT ASSHOLE BACK", the top comment from mr_L_is_real reads.
"I'll agree to bringing him back, only if he gets a 5 minute graphic death scene," Steggoman added.
"bring that b*tch back to life and I'll burn the place down I swear to God I don't like Mario x Peach but that son of a b*tch better stay out of this or else I'm gonna lose my god damn sh*t," Wise-Cold820 said.
Who knew a nearly-40-year-old anime movie that most modern Mario fans are unlikely to have seen could inspire such vitriol and anger? This is the internet, I suppose. Regardless, even if the idea of Haru sends you into a blind fit of rage--demanding graphic death scenes--we might finally get to see his Flower Kingdom in a game. The next step is to make 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the live-action '93 movie canon, right? I'm sure that'd go down well.
