has finally confirmed that the new Elephant powerup in isn't specific to Mario and can be used by nearly every character in the game.
After months of silence since Wonder's initial reveal (well, aside from confirming that Charles Martinet wasn't going to be involved in the game), Nintendo has finally pulled back the curtain a little more on Mario's latest adventure with a dedicated Direct. We got a look at a lot of new stuff in the footage, including the n168澳洲幸运5开奖网:ew badges mechanic and a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:very red limited edition OLED Switch, but one of the biggest (literally) is the confirmation of how exact🍸ly the Elephant powerup w♌orks.
, Mario isn't the only character on the roster that can be turned into an elephant, despite fan tꦰheories that every character would be getting their own animal transformation. Instead, Mario, Luigi, Daisy, Peach, Toad, and Toadette all turn into elephants if they col𒊎lect the Elepha🅰nt Cherry.
The only two characters who seem immune to this rule are the "easy mode" heroes - Nabbit and Yoshi. It wasn't outright confirmed by the footage trailer that Yoshi and Nabbit can't turn into elephants, but they weren't directly mentioned by Nintendo as being able to do so, which makes it likely that they can't. Considering they're basically the game's easy mode, it makes sense that they wouldn't be able to, even if it robs us of seeing Yoshi as an elephant.
We also got to see brief glimpses of each of the characters in their elephant forms, and it's safe to say that Peach and Daisy both look the most different when transformed. Something about the skin tone and lack of hair on both of them makes the elephant form look a little weird, but that might just be because we've spent the last few months staring at Mario's moustachioed trunky mug.
The Direct also gave us some concrete details about what the Elephant powerup actually does. Not only can everyone break through bricks using their trunks, but they can also dash across large gaps, carry water, and reflect projectiles with a quick swipe of their schnozz. It seems pretty powerful overall, which makes sense since it's been such a key part of the marketing so far.
Aside ꦉfrom the elephant powerup, we also got to see some of the other new ones that have been added to the game, including Bubble andꦺ Drill. Bubble does exactly what it sounds like and traps enemies in bubbles, while Drill lets Mario and friends go underneath the surface of some parts of levels.
