What has people really excited about the trailer is the final reveal - a power-up that turns Mario into an elephant. He even keeps the signature red top, dungarees, and hat. Nintendo of America's senior vice president of creative an♛d planning quickly took to Twitter to about the reveal, saying, "Happy I can finally talk about the elephant (Mario) in the room", and he's not t🌳he only one since it has quickly become a celebrated icon.
One Twitter user, @Sammydogge, has alr✤eady shared fan art of the design, having the new elephant Mario suggestively wink at the ♑camera. That was alarmingly fast--I think Sammy might be a new Nintendo insider.
They're not the only ones. Twitter user Ryder sh♎ared their own take on elephant Mario right after the Direct, even findingౠ time to add a splash of colour to their artwork.
Of course, it's not just elephant Mario people are excited about. Wonder marks the first ma𒁃inline Mario game Daisy is playable in. The closest we've come to her featuring as a playable character in the series is Super Mario Maker and Super Mario Run, but they better fit the term spin-offs.
The wait to try out this new Mario game isn't long at all, as it l♛aun𝓰ches in only four months.
