A Nintendo modder has combined Super Mario Gal⛎axy with Pokemon Diamond & Pearl, turning Sinnoh into a platforming course for Mario.
As one of the most popular developers out there, Nintendo mods are pretty frequent, no more so than with Pokemon games. Making a whole region into a level in Super Mario Galaxy is new, however.
That's exactly what RiazorMC has done. shows Mario starting at Twinleaf City and making his way around the whole of Sinnoh, eventually ending up at the Pokemon League. RiazorMC doesn't reveal how they've managed to put the map into Super Mario Galaxy, but it's impressive to see Mario running around one of Pokemon's most well-known maps.
Although Mario doesn't seem to be able to enter any of the buildings or caves along the way, he is able to walk along every route, triple-jump around the map, and swim in the water to get around. There also aren't any NPCs or Pokemon to be found along the way, leading to some commenters suggesting an alternate title for the video, "A distressed Mario searches for signs of life or civilization". After making his way to the Pokemon League, Mario is even able to pick up a Staryu, which is a cute little detail.
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like RiazorMC releases any of the mods that they create, instead choosing to showcase them on their channel. There also isn't much information on how RiazorMC ports elements from games into one another, but it seems like they specifically work with Wii games. Either way, it's some impressive work.
