1The 16-bit era or the 3rd generation of consoles had some of the best games ever released, with many of today’s games being influenced by games on the Sega Genesis or Super Nintendo, whether directly or indir💃ectly. Another important part of the 3rd generation of consoles is that they perfected 2D, whether it was sidescrollers, shoot 'em ups, or RPGs.

There were so many games in fact, that many of today’s gamers may be lost in the large libraries and struggles to find the games that really deserve there time. In an effort to shine some light on the games from the 16-bit generation that could use more love, here are five great Genesis, and five great Super Ninte🔥ndo games that need🍎 more attention.

10 Firestriker (SNES)

Everyone has played Brick Breaker on their phone, or Arkanoid on the Atari 2600, the idea goes back to the very origiꦫnal game Pong. Firestriker takes this ancient video game concept and does something entirely new with it. You control 2 players simultaneously, one who can walk freely and the other who acts as 🎉the ‘goalie’ who can only move right or left at the button of the screen. The game takes theꦫ same rules as Brick Breaker or Arkanoid, destroy the bricks ahead of you to proceed and do n♊ot let the ball pass you or you lose.

9 Atomic Runner (GEN)

Atomic Runner combines an auto-scrolling platformer, with a run and gun. You run along the ground as the Atomic Runner, dodging enemies and obstacles with the ability to jump on the heads of enemies like a typical platformer; but you are also forced to continue to move forward to shoot enemies and gain power-ups, similar to a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:run and gun.

The control in Atomic Runner is a little odd as you have to press a button and the direction yo🌸u want to face in order to change orientation but once you get the hang of it, you’ll experience some of Data East’s best work.

8 Umihara Kawase (SNES)

The Japanese exclusive Umihara Kawase is a long-running series that has unfortunately never made it over the pond. You are a yo൲ung girl with a fishinꦬg hook who must make it through levels with fish and a variety of paths.

The games fishing hook offers endless creativity as you try to swing as fast as ⛦you can through levels. The game is a speed runners dream with each level teaching you new techniques for either moving fast through levels or finding shortcuts so you can proce💞ed to hidden exits that will allow you to skip multiple levels at a time.

7 Light Crusader (GEN)

Light Crusader is one of Treasure’s, the developers behind Gunstar Heroes and Ikaruga, lesser-known games. You are a knight going through a variety of overhead, isometric levels fighting large bosses, and collecting different spells a൩nd equipment to help you 🍌take out enemies and make your way through the game.

Light Crusader leans heavily on puz🌜zle-solving and platforming but also has its fair share of combat. The combat can be a little tricky due to tಞhe isometric perspective but it is overall a very fun experience that hardly anyone ever mentions.

6 Pop'n TwinBee: Rainbow Bell Adventures (SNES)

Part of Konami’s TwinBee series, which mostly consists of shoot em’ ups, Pop'n TwinBee: Rainbow Bell Adventures is a platformer with three selectable characters, Twinbee, Wi♒nbee, and Gwinbee. The game is very colorful and filled with many detai🎀led sprites.

In Pop'n TwinBee: Rainbow Bell Adventures, you have a meter at the bottom of the screen that allows you to send out a strong projectile or dash in any direction. In the first level of the game, you can dash repeatedly up🧔wards continuously you leave orbit and go all the way into outer space which is both impressive and allows you to completely bypass the l🐲evel.

5 Ranger X (GEN)

In Ranger X, you play as a robo❀t that can transform into a futuristic bike, a fighting mech, or a combination of the two so you can move forward and fire as if on a souped-up skateboard from the year 3020.

The game is a prime example of just what Sega was talking about when they said blast processing. The game is fast and frenetic with large explosions, a pile of sprites on the screen at once, and a chaotic background wiಌth parallax scrolling, all while the framerate stays at a consistent speed.

4 Go Go Ackman 3 (SNES)

Go Go Ackman is a series of manga starringꦉ a young demon named Ackman whose goal is to collect souls for the Great Demon King. The series was written by Akira Toriyama, the creator of the Dragon Ball series, though you may have already guessed that as Ack♔man is one half jacket away from being Trunks.

Go Go Ackman 3 is a sidescrollin♕g platformer that includes some shoot em’ stages. In the platformer stages, you defeat enemies and your little minion collects their souls in a seemingly bottomless mason jar.

3 The Adventures of Batman & Robin (GEN)

While many are we▨ll aware of the Super Nintendo versi🅺on of The Adventures of Batman & Robin, the Sega Genesis version hardly gets any love. The Genesis versi🃏on of The Adventures of Batman & Robin is a run and gun brought to you by the king of run and guns Konami🌠.

The game plays similar to the Contra series but instead of guns, you are shoꦆoting bat-a-rangs and instead of fighting aliens, you’re fighting Batman’s extensive rogues’ gallery, including The Joker, Two-Face, and Mr. Freeze. Like the Contra games, The Adventures of Batman & Robin is very difficult and will require a lot of trial and erꩲror before you see the credit🔯s roll.

2 Dragon Ball Z: Hyper Dimension (SNES)

Many are well aware of the Super Butōden trilogy of fighting games on the Super Nintendo but no one ever mentions what may be the best 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dragon Ball Z game of the 16-bit era as a whole, Dragon Ball Z: Hyper Dimension.

One reason this game gets no attention may be that the game came out very late in the console༺’s lifecycle but because of that, the game has some of the most detailed sprites on the system - just check out Frieza’s transformation animation before a fight, it is mesmerizing and very impressive for the system.

1 Ristar (GEN)

Ristar was created by Sonic Team an⛄d was released late in the Sega Genesis’ life. You play as the very grabby 🐽Ristar who can grab onto enemies and head-butt them into submission. Ristar’s very grabby hands are also great for climbing obstacles which becomes a large aspect of the level design throughout the game.

Being such a late release for the Sega Genesis, Ristar is one of the best looking games on the system and even gives the Super Nintendo a run for its money when it comes to graphics. This game is thankfully getting some more love these days as it was included on the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Sega Genesis Mini.
