Nintendo's stock value dropped shortly after E3 due to a lack of new titles being announced, with the 2018 holiday season seemingly being propped up entirely by Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu & Let's Go Eevee and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It seemed that Nint⭕endo was banking the immediate future of the Switch on two games alone.

Nintendo made the right call, as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the fastest selling Nintendo Switch game of all time in the United Kingdom and its launch sales have far surpassed Super Smash Bros. Brawl during the same period, even though Brawl was on the Nintendo Wii, which had a much bigger audience tha🐠n the Switch.

Gamesindustry.biz that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate launched at the number one spot on the UK sales list, pushing Fifa 2019 from the top and moving ahead of Red Dead Redemption 2.

The sales figures released so far only include the physical release of the game and don't factor in digital downloads, whi🌳ch is something that we may need to wait until the neꦇxt Nintendo financial report to learn about.

The fact that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is off to such a strong start in the United Kingdom is an amazing sign for the game's success. The fact that we are coming off a number of Nintendo Switch promotions from Black Friday, as well as the surprise announcement that Joker from Persona 5 will be appearing in the game boꦛth likeꦆly played a factor in many people picking up the game.

It seems that Nintendo was in safe hands by relying on Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu & Let's Go Eevee and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for its 2018 holiday season, with the former attracting fans of the original Pokémon games as well as those brought into the franchise through Pokémon Go, and the latter appe𓆏aling to fans of both hardcore competitive fighting games and casual party titles.

We have yet to learn the sales figures for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in the rest of the world, nor any of the sales of the digital version of the game, but it's looking likely that the game will take Super Mario Odyssey's place as the best-selling Nintendo Switch g𝔍ame.
