From his booming popularity in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Super Smash Bros. Melee, Fox McCloud has become one of the most played and beloved characters in all of Smash. This anthropomorphic space pilot takes a page out of Sonic's book and prioritizes speed and 🐓combos ⛎rather than brute force.
There are currently three space animals in Ultimate, each with a distinct playstyle 🔜and move variations. What does Fox b♔ring to the table to differentiate himself from the rest of the cast and solidify his spot as a top-tier character choice?
10 ♊ ASSET: Combos For Days ꦚ
Once a Fox player is able to effectively break an oppo♔nent's defenses and get up close and personal, Fox turns into an absolute beast. All of his tilts and aerials are great to either start or continue combos, and this is made even better by how fast they are.
You're easily able to dish out 40% or more in one blindingl⛄y fast combo, and Fox also takes advantage of jab-resets and tech-chases extremely well, usually leading into a KO. The smallest move used by Fox can earn you some serious daꦐmage because of his speed, and it makes for one of the most fast-paced matchups in the game.
9 FLAW: Featherweigౠht
As one of the lightest characters in the entire game, just about any stronger attack will be KO'ing Fox way earlier than most other fighters. If he's ꦬanywhere near Jigglypuff in terms of weight, that should give some p♛erspective.
While catching Fox may prove to be quite the obstacle, landing a solid hit on Fox puts him in a pretty bad position, as getting hit out of his recovery will most certainly beget an early stock for your opponent. Fox has to play a lo✱t more cautiously at higher percents to preserve the stock as much as possible.
8 ASSET: Quick Like 🍒A Fox
Fox has the 5th fastest run speed in the ওgame, and you can most certainly feel it when you struggle to control this speed demon with your bare hands. His attacks also come out extremely fast, as well as being a fast-faller who can throw out short-hop aerials like nobody's business.
Speed is going to be his greatest quality, as it shapes his r🐟ushdown playstyle and devastating combo game. While he won't get too far in terms of vertica🐓l height, he'll be all over opponents on stage.
7 🌜 FLAW: Linear Recovery
Compared to Falco an♌d Wolf, Fox easily has the most linear and exploit🐲able recovery of the three, and it can cause him to really struggle to get back to the stage. Firefox may travel the furthest, but it's still fairly easy to interrupt and send Fox to his doom.
Side-special is his best option in terms of horizontal distance, but, like his up-special, it leaves him wide open for attacks. You'll have to utilize both of these moves to 𝔉safely grab the ledge, and a mixture of shine stalling and air-dodging will greatly help as well.
6 𒐪 ♏ASSET: KO Potential
While not quite as explosively powerful as in games like 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Melee and Smash 4, Fox still has a plethora of great kill options within his toolkit. The most reliable of these options is definitely going to be up-♑smash, as it KOs extremelyꦍ early and can be combo'd into from a neutral-air.
His aerials are pretty solid as well, with up-air being your main vertical move and back-air to KO opponents off the side of the stage. All of hi🍸s smashes are great, a♏nd there isn't really a move in his arsenal that isn't useful in some way.
5 FLAW: Lack of💝 Range
Fox is a fairly short character among the cast, with some stubby limbs to boot. This is a character all about pure aggression and pressure, so it's a tradeoffꦿ of not having much range at all. Lasers are his only long-distance attacking option, and forward-tilt can some✃what be used as a spacing tool.
Swords can demolish Fox if not played carefully, as the disjointed hitboxes are great for keeping him at bay and interrupting his attempts at attacking. Footsies are a major factor in Fox's gameplay because if you're not able to getꦿ around y💎our opponent's superior range you'll be nothing more than a pest.
4 ASSET: Reflector 🌊
Comparing Fox's 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Melee shine to his one in Ultimate is a completely unfair comparison, as it acts as a traditional🐽 reflector this time around instead of one of the best moves in any fighting game.
Still, any ౠcharacter with access to a reflector immediately does a better job versus projectile-heavy fighters, and can sometimes be just the thing needed to get Fox out of a sticky situation. It's a niche move that won't be getting much screen time for sure, but it still remains an invaluable꧅ tool.
3 𒁏 ꦫ FLAW: Which One?
While completely separate characters on their own, it's still a big decision as to which character i🐽s the right choice for you. Falco has a way heavier focus on aerial combat since he personally pre♒fers the air, and Wolf hits quite hard with some tricky combos and lasers.
The three are all great characters who can reach great heights in the right hands, but it's all a matter of who fits your playstyle better. Wolf has seen the most success over the lifetime of Ultimate, ওand Falco has had a recent rise in popularity and tournaไment showings.
2 ⛦ ASSET: Aggression To The Max
Have your inhaler on the ready, because Fox sure isn't going to give you any time to breathe. Superfast ground speed mixed with his quick jumps allows him to quickly pull off dangerous mix-ups and combo-starters, which is wher꧒e he thrives.
Slower fighters will have a rough time versus Fox, as stocks can be depleted in a matter of seconds. This does require some serious precision o𝓡n the part of the player to accurately place this speedy fox exactly where he needs to be and is a force to be reckoned with when mastered.
1 🧜 FLAW: Combo Food 💜
Being a fast-faller has its perks when you're on the offensive, but can quickly turn into your biggest nightmare. When Fox꧂ gets hit, he gets hit again. And again. And again. He's one of the easiest characters to combo, not made any better by how early he'll lose stocks because of his weight.
Some characters are able to go to town on Fox because of this, giving him some prettܫy difficult mat🐼chups like Joker. This is Fox's biggest downside to play around, and any good player will need to perfect their DI and recovery.
