It only took Kazuya Mishima a couple of weeks to get ready for his next battle in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Super Smash Bros. Ultimate after being revealed during Nintendo’s E3 Direct presentatio🤡n. However, now that Kazuya is finally here Smash🎐 players might have some problems unpackin🗹g his Tekken skills in the realm of platform fighters.
While Smash already has three traditional fighting game characters in Ryu, Ken, and Terry, during his detailed character breakdown Masahiro Sakurai made some interesting points that hinted at Kazuya being much different. See, whether it’s a reflector, super armor, shield-breaking moves, a comeback mechanic, “crumpling”, auto turnaround, command grabs, or invincible attacks, Kazuya is packing every single trick in the book, thus making him one of Smash Ultimate’s most complicated characters.
Kazuya’s Quirks
First and foremost, Kazuya has a lot of attacks - 38 of them to🃏 be precise. Although some of these moves are much more useful than🌳 others, it’s very important for you to be aware of what inputs should be used at any given moment. These can essentially be divided into:
- Grounded attacks
- Crouch attacks
- Smash attacks
- Aerials
- Specials
- Command inputs
- Rage Drive-only moves
Of course, the so-called “just frame moves” are not all there is to Tekken, so in ♚order to accommodate for Smash players, Kazuya’s inputs are much more forgiving on your hands. This comes with a caveat though, Kazuya pretty much plays by his own rules, meaning Smash’s physics were altered to make him function prope🏅rly in the game.
When you’re playing Smash Ultimate, whether it’s with the lightnin💃g-fast Pikachu or the clumsy King K. Rool, all of your characters jump just as fast, at exactly three frames, as part of a mechanic known as universal jump squat. In Kazuya’s case, he’s the game’s only slow jumper (taking 💮him a full seven frames to leave the ground), so you won’t want to press the X and Y buttons💯 as often as with other characters.
To compensate for this, Kazuya’s been given access to the aforementioned mechanics that allow him to hit like a truck to deplete his opponent’s stocks really fast. In short, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Kazuya borrows a lot from Terry, Ganondorf, Bowser,168澳洲幸运5开奖网: and Sephiroth to turn 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Tekken poster boy into a force to be reckoned with.
Kazuya’s Many A-Button Normal Moves And His Gameplan
The best thing about Kazuya is his damage output because Mishima karate doesn’t need to land many strikes to rack up a percentage. The second best thing about him is that many of his attacks come bundled with invincibility properties on his legs, arms, or torso, wi🌺th the following being obvious stan𓆏douts:
- Oni Front kick (leg)
- Tsunami kick (leg)
- Jump Side kick (legs)
- Twin Pistons (upper body)
- Tombstone Crusher (leg and arms)
- Crouch Jab (arm)
- Dash attack
- Up Air
In addition to that, all of Kazuya’s Smash attacks have some armor so he can sometimes push through incoming attacks to deliver a killing blow by sustaining a little damage. His big winners here are probably Oni Front kick, Tombstone Crusher, and Crouch Jab, all of which can obliterate the enemy at very low percentages. Meanwhile, Twin Pistons is an anti-air attack that will beat out most aerial approaches in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a very Guilty Gear Strive way.
Mainly, as Kazuya you will want to stay grounded and use his relatively quick speed and unique crouch dash to move in and out of your enemy’s threat range to look for a perfect opening that will lead to massive damage. In the worst-case scenario, Kazuya can handle a few mistakes as he is among the game’s heaviest characters, sitti✅ng just between Piranha Plant and Charizard.
Kazuya’s Command Inputs And Special
Regardless of all the power that lies in Mishima karate’s normal attacks, if you want to main Kazuya then you’ll really want to get good at doing the “Shoryuken” input, because a perfectly executed motion leads to the biggest prize of all, the Electric Wind God Fist.
Unlike the rest of his command inputs that are more lenient in term of execution, Electric Wind God Fist requires you to press the A button exactly as you flick the control stick diagonally, otherwise, you’ll end up landing the still good but less rewarding Wind God Fist.
The main difference here is that Electric Wind God Fist can clean out stocks 🔜as early as 70%. Kazuya can hit so hard even his side taunt will lead to a good amount of damage being done. So it’s not really that the rest of Kazuyas command inputs are bad, it’s just that the reward for hitting your friends with an Electric♓ Wind God Fist makes this his go-to option in most cases.
As for his specials, pushing the B button will fire off Kazuya’s Devil Blaster, a tool t♌hat might be helpful against characters trying to keep you far from them, but one that is much better used to snipe your opponents whenever they’re offstage. On the other hand, both his up and side specials can be used to recover back onstage, yet remember that you must choose carefully between one or the other to make it back.
Lastly, Kazuya’s down B special Heaven’s Door is a command grab very similar to Bowser’s side B that can be used to quickly mix up rivals when they’re using their shield to cover from the rest of your powerful attacks. Nevertheless, in case things get complicated, Kazuya obtains a massive boost to this aspect of his moveset provided you can live past 100%.
Kazuya's Rage Drive
From 100% and upwards Kazuya gets Rage Drive, granting him access to three new moves to finish off the game quickly with one of these devastating attacks. These range from simply getting a grab (Z or R button) using his now juiced up down special or using the “Shoryuken” command input to ensure a +40% attack that will finish offꦆ most characters in just one interaction.
As if that weren't enough, Rage Drive also gives Kazuya an overall 10% boost in damage for the rest of his moves so this is really something that can rapidly turn the tide in a match. To even out the playing field, Kazuya will lose his Rage Drive in case he misses six grab attempts or takes a 💛certain amount of damage (roughly equaling to 38% at about 6.33% for each grab or vice versa).
Kazuya’s Movement
Though like previously stated Kazuya benefits more from staying on the ground, Sakurai made sure his movement capabilities 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:honored his Tekken roots by granting him a unique dash mechanic called "crouch dashing", which can be 🐬executed by doing♛ the Shoryuken input and not pressing any other buttons.
Crouch Dashing will give Kazuya brief invincibility, allowing him to close in on his enemies without getting hit. When done properly, Kazuya can dash forward as much as three times per second, but the real magic comes when you combine his Crouch Dash with one of his other many inv💖incible and powerful attacks, including those that depend on Rage Driv𓂃e.
Overall, Kazuya stands as one of Smash Ultimate’s more carefully designed characters, one with whom players will be able to reap 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:any previous Tekken 7 expertise they❀ have so they can stri♊ke first and strike hard. If that’s not the case, his inclusion in Smash definitely makes a compelling case for anyone to ▨pick up Tekken to nail down those Electric Wind God Fist.
