Maid of Sker puts players in the year 1898, tasking them with navigating the macabre Hotel Sker in an adventure heavily inspired by Welsh folklore and the story of Elisabeth Williams - “the tragic tale of a Welsh woman in the 1800’s losing her life after her father locks her away in her room to die 🔯of heartb🅘reak.”

Terror and death lurk in every hallway and hidden corridor, as well as the surrounding outside areas of the hotel. Since they’ll have to weapon, players will only have their ♎wits and survival tactics to rely on, while staying as quiet as possible so as not to🧔 be found by the ghoulish Slenderman-type figures that roam the hotel grounds.

The reveal trailer provides a glimpse of gameplay that most survival horror fans will recognize, including gorgeous environments that eventually morph into dark and twisted nightmares, hulking enemies hellbent on players’ destruction, jump scares, hauntingly beautiful music - wh✨ich includes reimagined Welsh hymns performed by the talented Tia Kalmaru - and gore. Oh, so much gore. While weapons won’t be a primary option for survival, there is a quick glimpse during the gameplay footage of some sort of otherworldly device that stops enemies in their tracks, possibly saving players’ hides, if only for a moment.

“We’re so excited to be announcing Maid of Sker,” said Managing༺ Dire🗹ctor, David Banner. “For us at Wales Interactive, Maid of Sker is a fantastic chance to share some Welsh heritage with the rest of the gaming world and frighten them all at th꧑e same time!”

Maid of Sker is slated for release in June 2020 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, while a Nintendo Switch version is set to release in Octobeꦏr 2020.
