A huge update has just been pushed out to all 🦋Nintendo Switch consoles that adds both minor and major features to the console. Switch users are encouraged to access their system settings to update to⭕ the newest version, 10.0.0.
This update brings a number of highly requested features. First, data transfer between system memory and a removable SD card is now possible. Switch owners will now be able to transfer downloaded software, update data, and DLC to and from the system memory. This is a blessing for storage management and can make transferring to a new console a lot easier. Unfortunately, saved data still can not be transferred to the SD card and must be stored on system memory. For games like Animal Crossing: New Horizons that don't support cloud save, your game will꧒ continue to be stuck on the console you're playing it 🧸on.
The other major new feature added in this update is button remapping, and it looks like Nintendo did this one right. Each button and control stick on the Joy-Con and the Pro Controller can be remapped to any other button or disabled entirely. The changes are system-wide, so players will be able to remap their buttons to their ♚desired layout once and it will carry ꦫthrough into any game they play. Further, up to 5 configurations can be saved for each controller, so whether you need different layouts for different games or you share your devices with someone, switching layouts should be relatively simple.
This feature is one of the console's most highly requested features and will without a doubt provide many🍸 the ability to play games they otherwise wouldn't have been able to. For example, it's now possible, depending on the game, to create a one-handed layout. One could also completely remove the need to use the trigger buttons if they aren't able to use them.
Additional features added in this update include a bookmark feature for news items, 6 new Animal Crossing icons, and the typical general stabilityꦐ updates. Finally, the "Display Play Activity" sett🎃ing has been moved into a new menu within User Settings called Play Activity Settings.
