Fishing is a great pastime when you want a break ℱfrom the Wyr▨dnights and beasts of the wood. Take a few moments to yourself to kick back, relax, and cast a line into the dark waters surrounding Avalon. You never know what fish (or treasures) you'll find!
How To Fish
Passing time in Avalon is easy to do, especially when you go fishing in the beautiful and mysterious waters of the Horns of the South. You'll find fishing rods laying around on the beach, or you can bu🍎y one from the vendor along🍨 the shore in the village.
To go fishing, equip the fishing rod in one of your loadout spots, then approach a body of water. Use the correct input to cast a line, then wait for a fish to bite.
If the bobber ticks three times, and you haven't gotten a🃏 pull, try recasting the line.
Once you get a bite, hold and release the input to keep the hook icon in the golden bar until all the white bubbles on the left fade away. Then you'll have reeled in your fish, and you can see the size of your catch!
All Fish And Where To Find Them
There are six species of fish you can find in the waters around Avalon, and each will give you several fish fillets as a reward when caught (or stolen). The Horns of the South seems to be the best place to fish, ♚with abundant streams, access to the oceᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚan, and plenty of marine life.
Be warned that you can fish trash out of the water too! Cleaning up the litter can earn you a few extra gold coins if you sell it, though it is just garbage. And yes, you can fish in the infamous Blood Lake, though it's mostly filled with trash.

It seems like some fish are much harder to find than others, or may not yet be added to bodies of water. However, these are the fish we've found by name, so you'll hopefully be able to find them soon!
- Common Bream
- Peasant Carp
- Crucian Carp
- Redfin Carp
- Rockfish
- Really Special Herring
Common Bream can be fished out of most bodies of water across the Horns of the South. This is the most common fish you'll find, and you can easily fish it out of ponds, lakes, and the ocean by the seaside village.
While crabs scuttle along the beaches in the Horns of the South, they don't count as a fish in the Fishing Journal.
Where To Get Really Special Herring
While other fish can be found just by fishing in bodies of water, the Really Special Herring is only unlocked after speaking with Rumpolt and initiating the 120 Days On Herring And Cheese quest.
He'll mark the location on your map, close to the giant fish graphic on the eastern side of the map.๊ Head to that exact location t🌳o catch this slippery (and stinky) fish.
How To Unlock Fishing Skills
There are two skills you can unlock as a fisherman. When you have skill points to use, you can unlock the following skills to assist you in your fishin♓g endeavors:

These skills will help you not only catch more fish, but bigger ones. You'll never run out of fish fillets so long as you keep your rod with you and set time aside to practice your angling.
When you catch all six varieties of fish, you'll unlock The Fisher-King's Successor achievement/trophy!
