The Arte system in Tales of Arise is a deep, rewarding combat mechanic that allows you to unleash flashy and devastating spells and attacks on your opponent. Ad♛ditionally, there are also Healing Artes that will keep your teammates in the battle, even if they have fallen.

While this guide already contained every character's Arte, we felt every character's description of how their Artes are used in battle, along with their general combat flow, needed to be touched up. This update hopefully makes each character's role and focus much more straightforward.
Alphen
Alphen's Artes are focused primarily around his Blazing Sword, with some of them becoming slightly amplified based on his default weapon, which you will frequently upgrade throughout Ta💃les of Arise. What makes Alphen's Artes unique is their ability to be chained together, allowing him to deal devastating combos that lead directly into air juggles.
Due to Alphen's ability to apply suffocating pressure on the opponent, he can take the reigns of most battles, making him a fierce and strong leader of the party. Alphen's main kit relies solely on him launching the opposition into the air, immediately followed with flashy aerial combos that culminate with a devastating slam that sends the enemy hurtling back into the ground. When it comes to all of Tales of Arise's Artes, Shionne may possess the most balanced of the bunch, allowing her to deal sufficient damage while also keeping her entire party alive with Healing Artes, even bringing them back from the brink of death when things get out of control.
Shionne can deal elemental damage to the enemy with bombs that change the surrounding area's weather, deliver monstrous shots from her rifle, and even summon a swirling tornado of flame and chaos that will overwhelm most targets. Keep in mind, all of this is on top of her excellent healing options, making her one of the game's best characters by a long shot. While Rinwell definitely seems to be the most innocent and carefree of the bunch, don't let it fool you. Aside from Tales of Arise's DLC Artes, Rinwell possesses the most potent Arte Combinations out of any other party member in the game. Her Artes are seriously terrifying and will tear whoever gets caught up in them limb from limb. Rinwell can apply buffs to her entire team or create what can only get described as Pain's "Planetary Devastation" from Naruto, and it just isn't right.
Fortunately, Rinwell is on your team and will be putting her absurd Artes to the test on your opponents. As touched on briefly above, Rinwell can buff the entire party's attack output or summon in many meteors that crash land into the arena. When it comes to Law's Artes in Tales of Arise, his entire setup requires him to be overly aggressive and up close and personal with the enemy and goes hand in hand with his gauntlets.
