I just know that if you add this thing to that thing you get another thing, and that's fascinating to me. Infinite Craft is free to play on your browser, so it's gaining a lot of players like me who don't really know why they're playing, but they are anyway. The problem is before I was just clicking around making nonsense. The game informs me that I was the first person in the world to make Tin Tea Pie and Pirate Tea Pie, which is just a string of sounds. However, now everything is connected to Taylor Swift's Madame Web-style, um, web, and all of my clicking is now about her.

I don't really care anymore what happens if I combine Aquaman with Salsa Verde (Guacamole, for the curious) nor what I get when I add Jellyfish to Unicorn (Narwhal). All I am doing now is adding things to Taylor Swift, and the answers range from the obvious to the clever, and from the stupid to the sublime. In focusing everything on Taylor Swift, I have begun to understand what made Infinite Craft so compelling in the first place.

Let's start with the obvious ones - you add Taylor Swift and Love, and you get Song. You add Taylor Swift and Song, and you get Money. A succinct summary of her career. You add Taylor Swift and Netflix, 🦋but unfortunately this does not result in her Netflix documentary Miss Americana, but instead in Drama. Taylor Swift plus Drama, for the record, is Tears, which when combined back with Taylor Swift gives you Song again. That also feels like a succinct summary.

There are some smarter ones which follow the same logical path, however. Taylor Swift plus Screaming Teenagers will give you Concert, while Taylor Swift plus Poetry will give you Love Story. You can get other songs by adding Taylor Swift to Traffic (Carma, like Karma and Car, I guess?), or to Dandelion (Bad Blood). I've also been able to get 1989 and Reputation (from Fortnite and Plant), but nothing else.

Weirdly things that should link up don't - New York is obviously 1989, but instead gives you Empire State of Mind (a song she has never performed and did not record), Pie gives you Britney Spears' Piece of Me (never covered by Taylor), while Chill gives you, rather than one of her slower records, Ice Ice Baby, which it will come as no great surprise to you, she also did not perform.

This is where I'm going wrong with Infinite Craft though. The goal is not really to have a specific thing in mind that you want to make, it's to chuck random things together. Taylor Swift plus Shark is, for some reason, Sharknado. Add her to Pegasus and you get Pegaswift. Add her to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Game of Thrones, you get Arya Swift. To Lincoln, it's Lincoln Swift. Taco? Not Taco Swift but instead, Taco Bell. Add her to Tin Pie, and rather than a third new discovery of Taylor Tin Pie, I get Tin Swift, which has the emoji of a race car. Yeah, I dunno either.

It's not a game I (or likely anyone else) is going to stick with for the long term, but it's a great concept and by using Taylor Swift as a default in my crafting combinations, I have started to understand the appeal of what the game offers. Infinite Craft is another entry in 2024's gallery of surprise packages, and thanks to the magic of Captain Swifthook, I finally get it.
