Eiji Aonuma confirmed in a recent interview with that will not receive downloadable content, and the team at Nintendo will൩ move onto a new game in the fictional universe from noℱw.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Breath of the Wild was complemented by an expanꦇsion and additional bonuses years after its 2017 release, so I imagine fans also hoped for the same treatment to come to its critically acclaimed and experimental sequel. But nope, Aonuma has dashed our hopes in the best way possible as he looks towards the future.

For those who aren’t aware, Tears of🍒 the Kingdom originally began development as another expansion for its predecessor, before it became clear that Nintendo had too many narrative and mech🥀anical ideas, and thus all of these were rolled into the sequel that finally landed in our laps earlier this year.

Tears of the Kingdom

The result was a more confident, varied game which many view as the ultimate form of Breath of the Wild’s initial ideas, maintaining the same sense of beloved freedom with new gameplay elements that allowed players to build almost anything and go almost anywhere. I praised it as such in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:my review, and still find myself dipping into it and discovering new things even after hundreds of hours. It’s a masterpiece, but we know💞 there will come a time to move on and accept that the series should now go somewhere new.

Aonuma didn’t entirely rule out a return to the vision of Hyrule seen in the previous entries, but for now he and his team have done all they can to mine fun from its various locations and characters. As much as I love Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, and safe as I am in the knowledg𒉰e that I’ll return to these games again and again over the years, one of the reasons I love Zelda so much is because it is never afraid to reinvent itself.

It’s this malleable, ever-changing identity that has kept the franchise so relevant, and exactly why decades later there are still millions of us flocking to every new game. Nintendo isn’t known to remain complacent either, and when it comes to the Hero of Time it is eager to challenge itself and innovate upon what came before instead of constantly dredging up the past in pursuit of easy wins. That isn’t t🎀he sort of Zelda game I ever want to see, and I doubt we ever will with developers like Aonuma at the helm knowing when to push and pull.

Tears of the Kingdom was getting compared to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Majora’s Mask long before it even released. That game uses many of the same assets and mechanics from 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Ocarina of Time, but in tone and narrative couldn’t b❀e more different. It is dark and foreboding, unafraid to tell heartbreaking stories and depict our hero as someone truly helpl꧅ess. It was also made in a very short amount of time, and if that production wasn’t so truncated and breakneck I doubt something so special would have ever been possible.

Wind Waker wouldn’t have been possible if Nintendo was scared of risks or what its long term 🧸fans might think, with Twilight Princess being the only entry over the course of several generations that felt truly safe. Yes, the one where Link turns into a wolf was the safe one.

Everything else has built on what came before and made mistakes amid their triumphs, culminating in the reinventive bri🔥lliance of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom which have more than likely redefined Zelda forever. Where it goes from here is unknown, but isn’t that what makes it so exciting?
