It's been ten years since Telltale released 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Walking Dead, an adventure game in the universe of the eponymous series. The game wasn't the most technologically advanced thing to come out near the end of the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 generation. Yet, it stood out for its intriguing story and memorable characters, its comic-book-style graphics, and the fact that it made us fear the words "will remember that".

It also managed to be pretty tense, with conversations having a set time limit, meaning we had to choose our response quick, with no time to mull it over. We could alienate people, let them die, or do all the above. That's not to mention the hectic movement of our cursors when zombies came knocking, and we had to shoot them — fast. If we were stressed out by button-mashing, imagine how thoroughly awful we would be at actually surviving in this post-apocalyptic world?

8 The Last Scene Between Lee🐻 and Clementine

Telltale's The Walking Dead - Lee and Clementine's Goodbye

Okay. We could probably survive this physically. But emotionally? No way. We were already turned into bawling messes by 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:this heart-wrenching scene, and we're not even little kids like Clementine. You get to choose your last words to Clem, all while she's crying and begging you not to go. You've done what you could, and now you're forced to leave her.

The real kicker is when Lee tells Clementine he'll miss her moments before she kills him at his request or leaves him to turn. It's a wonder, Clem, a child, somehow gets out safely and forges her own path. She makes it. We didn't. Or, at least, our hearts didn't.

7 🌠 First Walker Encounter

The Walking Dead - Lee's First Encounter With Walker

Lee doesn't just survive a car crash, oh no. Moments after escaping the wrecked vehicle, he faces the lumbering, groaning visage of the now-undead cop who had been driving Lee to prison in the opening. Lee panics but can ultimately keep his cool long enough to sort things out. That is to say, get it to a point where it can no longer lumber.

Your reflexes need to be quick at this moment, and the whole thing is genuinely panic-inducing. And, yet, we have to remember — this isn't even happening to us. It's happening to Lee! He was just in a car crash, and is faced with an undead monster, and he just handles it. Us, though? We would probably end up as the zombie's first meal.

6 🍸 Sam The Dog

The Walking Dead Season 2 - Sam The Dog And Clementine

This one is tough. Early in the second season, Clementine meets a big, friendly dog out in the wilderness. Remember that Clem is a little girl, and the dog is pleasant, so obviously, she befriends it. They hang out for a while, and Sam can even sense nearby walkers. Everything seems good, like Clem finally has a companion… until you open a can of beans t𝓰o share.

And then things get nasty. Clem offers the animal some beans, which it gladly takes, but the moment she tries to take the can back for herself, Sam, sweet Sam, attacks her. Clem is bitten on the arm and ends up kicking Sam into some nearby broken tentpoles, impaling him, leaving you with the choice to put him out of his misery or not. If Sam didn't kill us by accident, our crying so hard that our vision became blurry and our throats raw would have alerted every walker nearby to us. Either way, we'd be dead.

5 The Stranger's Interrogation

The Walking Dead - Lee and the Stranger

All your choices have led to this moment. In the final episode of the first season of The Walking Dead, Lee Everett is confronted by a character known only as The Stranger. The Stranger has kidnapped Clementine and knows a disturbing amount of information about you, your group, and Clementine herself. Lee is dying, yet he has pushed his body to the limit, perhaps missing an arm and braving the zombie hordes to get to Clementine. To make sure she's safe.

She's not safe, though, not with this man. Reasoning with the Stranger is impossible — no matter what you've done or how good you've tried to be, he will throw your actions in your face, declaring he'd be a better protector of Clementine than you. If you try to show him mercy at the end of your conversation, he'll attack you. We would not have been able to keep our cool, let alone fight off a comparatively healthy man while we were succumbing to the zombie virus. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Lee is made of better stuff than us.

4 The Basemen🌠t And Brody

The Walking Dead Season 4 - Clementine in Brody's Basement

The final season of The Walking Dead is filled with suspense and starts with a bang. Near the end of the first episode, Clementine finds herself locked in a basement with the recentl꧃y deceased corpse of a girl named Brody. In the darkness, sections briefly illuminated by the shine of a flashlight, Cle📖mentine wanders, looking for a way to escape.

And then the groaning starts. And the corpse reanimates, stalking forward toward Clementine. Then, just as Clem is about to escape…the corpse jumps her, the two tumbling back onto the hard cellar floor, locked in a struggle to survive. If the fall or attacking zombie didn't kill us, the sheer horror of being stuck in a dark room with an undead monster probably would have. Meanwhile, for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:ultimate survivor Clem, this is just a Thursday.

3 🎃 Just All Of No Time Left

The Walking Dead - Lee contemplating losing arm

Not exactly a moment, but we can all agree that the final episode of the first season of The Walking Dead puts you through the wringer. You begin the episode with Lee bit and already growing ill from the infection. You can choose to sacrifice your bitten arm in the hopes of slowing the process, but it doesn't matter — you're going to die, and then you're going to turn. It is inevitable.

But Clem has been kidnapped. And there is nothing on this earth more important to Lee Everett than Clementine's safety. He will lose limbs, brave hordes of undead numerous times, and do anything to make sure Clementine makes it. We would have died way earlier than that, frankly.

The Walking Dead - Clementine, Baby AJ and Luke during shootout

The fourth and fifth episodes of season two have Clementine and company dealing with another group of survivors, known as The Russians, because, well, they're Russian. The confrontation at the end of episode four soon turns violent, becoming a full-out shootout in episode five. Don't forget that, in The Walking Dead, anyone who dies without their brain being destroyed will become a walker at an alarming rate.

A gunfight is the worst idea in the world for everyone involved. Either you die by a bullet or a comrade's bite, provided the noise doesn't alert every zombie in the area about you. And Clementine can even crawl into the thick of it to save a baby! We're not great shots in real life, regardless of our flawless game stats — we'd stand no chance against man or zombie.

1 Anytime A Horde Shows Up🌸 ♓

Telltale's The Walking Dead - Walker Horde

These poor people have to deal with undead herds more often than anyone would like. So regardless of what season you're playing, you're guaranteed at least one moment where you, as Lee, Clementine, or Javi, are forced to navigate a mass of groaning, shuffling zombies. They may not be among 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the most dangerous undead, but in groups, they're a massive threat.

Usually, the characters cover themselves in guts (gross) to mimic the scent of rot and trick th🙈e walkers. And then, somehow, they keep their cool as they move through the festering horde, unwilling to compromise their disguise by speaking to their companions or thinning out the herd. They go forward. We probably would have died the moment we had to douse ourselves with human viscera, and if we had survived that, we absolutely would have messed up royally ꧑during the slow shuffle through. Hey, it happens.
