MMORPG looks to launch into a major competitor in the monster collecting industry. With their 🧜recent early access release, it started to show cracks in the system they made as well as the highlights of what it can be. If there is a big killer of MMORPGs it's always going to be the longevity and the server issues, which were in plethora in early access.

Many are excited though at the possibility of an MMORPG Pokémon game with all the well thought out and upgraded features that Temtem has to offer.

10 Success: Improves ꧂on Pokemon Formula ﷽

Temtem is well thought out on how to develop further from ideas started in the Pokémon game franchise. Many of the same elements from Pokémon are present, even down to its cliches, but many of the gameplay and battle elements are streamlined and much less clunky. It takes nods at what modern RPGs gameplay-wise to streamline it for players and applies them to Pokémon, something that the franchise has long ignored.

9 ♑Flop: Not Enough Variation🥂

One thing Pokémon trumps Temtem on is a variation of monsters in a single area out in the wild. With nearly 800 pokemon that is to be expected especially if fans from pokemon move over to Temtem. Pokémon Sword and Shield provided 400 pokemon and an endless supply to find in their wild area, versus Temtem who is still developing their roster. With t𓆏he amouཧnt, you see a Temtem over and over again, in the early access version, visually people will get bored, which will, in the end, kill the game.

8 ༒ ☂ Success: Interactivity

There are a lot of interactive elements with other players that make you feel like you're in the wo🦩rld. Trading with other players is a major highlight as you can trade items and Temtem. You can also ask to battle or join a clan. All of this is vital to a community and keeping it going. At the moment there isn't anything quite like it as an MMORPG and it's f💟lexibility with player interaction.

7 Flop: Not Enough Money 🌸

Currency trade is rare in Temtem which is a big killer gameplay-wise. With difficult fights being unpredictable and necessary for forwarding movement, items can be blasted through keeping you from losing and your Temtem's health up. In Pokémon, you get a fair amount of money per battle, but in Temtem you🍷 don't have that making it more like a survival game i♎n its early access version.

If this stays into the final game you will only have the hardcore player left in the community who will drop out after there is not enough left to do. It wouldn't keep its player who will not enjoy either constant losing or constant grind just for money. If this isn't fixed it could be the easy killer of Temtem.

6 🦋 Success: A New Experience 🃏

Temtem looks to bridge the gap in the market for a monster collecting MMORPG. The idea alone is many tamers ﷺrunning around the map making the worl🌞d feel full and alive, almost what you'd dream the pokemon world to look like but was never realized by Gamefreak. It looked to modify the battle system and take out most random factors, making it a new gameplay experience both catching and battling.

5 Flop: Server Issues 𒁏

The biggest killer of any MMORPG is server issues. Crashes, Lag, freezes, and framerate drops, these all severely affect the enjoyability of a game depending on how severe it is.  There is o tell how it will look when completed but if server issues are there and it's never fixed it will end Temtem. It could surviveꦗ day 1 issues, j𒅌ust about every game goes through that nowadays, looking at you Nintendo, but if it is forever prevalent and game-breaking it's going to cause major player dropouts and refunds.

4 🍌 Success: Strategic Battle System

One thing Temtem has going for it is its unique battle system. You can't really compare it to Pokémon, though it will feel familiar because of its 4 move setup, however, you can replace those 4 moves anytime during a battle for any other that your TemTem can learn. Meaning your TemTem can know 30 something moves during a fight, making for a real ride of a batt🦹le experience. Add on its synergy system in 2 versus 2 matches and you have a whole lot more depth in a battle system than even in most mainstream RPGs.

3 🎃 Flop: Takes Too Much From Pokémo💖n

There is too much stigma that it is just a pokemon rip off. Its advertising isn't shy to draw lines between itself and Pokémon, going as far as to advertise the same way. Going too hard on that line will just lead to rejection from the fanbase making it look like a blockbuster. It will naturally draw Pokémon fans but it does fully support that it is a modified pokemon game rather than bursting out fro that as being apart of a genre that's underdeveloped. It's a celebration of Pokémon while also not being shy about that and even trending the lines of being a Pokémon game when in real🗹ity it's in a brand new genre that no one dared to compete in, especially successfully.

2 Success:🍎 Listening to Fans 𒁏

This game is good ♈with listening to its fans as far as options for whatever a pokemon fan could want out of a game that was never givenℱ to them. Being that it is still in its early stage of development it has time to further improve based on fan feedback and provide the best experience for all. When it comes to its own features they are whatever a pokemon fan dreamt of as gameplay improvement s without much of a change visually or story-wise.

1 🗹 Flop: No Long Term Goals 𒊎

The reason you see seasons and season passes out of many popular MMO's is because it sets new goals and tells a new story, while also adding new features in some cases. At early access, there doesn't seem to be many of those plans put into place or enough gameplay past the side quests and the pokemon elements to motivate players to keep playing. There is a lot of potential to keep building and adding with the game they put out without requiring a sequel with further goals and improvements being added throughout the game's life cycle much like a standard MMO. The best way that Temtem will survive and succeed is that it also treats itself like an MMO more than a Pokémon game.
