Too old and frail to be a playable character himself, Grandpa is still an essential ally for the Family. He’s there to support the Family in their hunt, and♉ works as a dire obstacle to any Victim trying to escape. Here is what you should know about him.

Feed Grandpa To Level Him Up

A blood-covered Sissy feeds blood to Grandpa, who is sitting in a rocking chair.

Grandpa appears in every match in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. He will be in a single location during the entire match, and will also be near an entrance to (or exit from) the basement. Grandpa starts off asleep, but he can be woken up in a few ways.

  • If any Victims make too much noise, Grandpa will wake up.
  • If a Victim exits the basement, Grandpa will wake up.
  • If a Family member feeds Grandpa blood, he will wake up.

Once he’s awake, 168澳洲幸运5开奖🍰网:the Family needs to feed Grandpa blood to level him up throughout the course of a match.

Blood can be collected in multiple ways, whether by scooping up blood from the buckets around the map or slicing up Victims. Each Family member will have a limit to how much blood they can carry at once, so it’s important to go feed Grandpa as much as possible, even if you don’t have a full vial.

Executing Victims grants the largest amount of blood, so you should immediately go feed Grandpa after getting a kill.

Grandpa's Sonar

Leveling up Grandpa is essential for the Family to track down any Victims, as Grandpa’s Sonar detection will reveal moving Victims at regular intervals. The audio cue of Grandpa’s loud howl is what signals his detection skills being active.

If you are 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:playing as a Victim, you need to pay attention to when Grandpa gets leveled up. While he might not be as harmful in the early stages, a full-strength Grandpa means almost certain doom for Victims.

Here is a breakdown of how each level enhances Grandpa’s abilities:

Grandpa Level

Description

Level Zero

  • All matches begin at zero.
  • Grandpa is asleep until woken up for the first time.

Level One

  • Grandpa yells regularly, highlighting noisy Victims with his Sonar ability.
  • The first extra ability becomes active.

Level Two

  • Grandpa's detection range increases, and his Sonar activates at shorter intervals.
  • Another extra ability becomes active.

Level Three

  • Grandpa's detection range increases, and his Sonar activates at shorter intervals.
  • Another extra ability becomes active.

Level Four

  • Grandpa's detection range increases, and his Sonar activates at shorter intervals.
  • Victims are highlighted even when hiding in the shadows.

Level Five

  • Grandpa's detection range increases to the full map, and his Sonar activates frequently.
  • Victims are highlighted even when completely still.

Grandpa's Extra Abilities

The Customization screen in Texas Chain Saw Massacre shows a skill tree that leads to a diamond-shaped perk for Grandpa.

The Family also has an additional way to make Grandpa work to their benefit every match. As you progress in the skill tree for a character in the Fa🎀mily, you will unlock specific diamond-shaped Grandpa nodes.

You can choose one unlocked ability to add to your loadout. As Grandpa levels up, these loadout abilities become active one at a time.

Family members will want to pick different abilities that compliment the ones your teammates select, as well as each other’s playstyles. Some of the best Grandpa abilities to pick are:

  • Excited Grandpa: This one reduces the cooldown of Grandpa’s Sonar, which makes it even easier to track down Victims, and makes it harder for them to complete objectives without interruption.
  • Well Well Well: It can be a nuisance when Victims escape a chase by jumping into one of the wells scattered around a map. This ability at least punishes them a bit more for doing it, making Victims be a bit more cautious about their health.
  • Don’t Have All Day: Reduced stamina drain while sprinting is a great buff for multiple reasons. It will allow you to cross more distance when patrolling the map, catch up to Victims in a chase and still attack them, and get back to Grandpa faster when you need to feed him.

Like your character perks, these abilities will also level up as you play the game, buffing the strength of the ability. You can always tweak your character’s perks and the ability you choose for Grandpa to fit your own playstyle. Here are the possible abilities for Grandpa that you can find on the skill tree:

How Victims Can Counter Grandpa

Ana sneaks up on Grandpa, who becomes immobilized after being stabbed.

Grandpa becomes an immensely strong component of the Family’s strategy, but he isn’t invincible. For Victims, it’s important to know how to counter Grandpa to help you escape.

In order to fight back against Grandpa, you will first need to have a bone scrap. After you escape from the basement, you will need to find Grandpa. He’s usually in the centralized house or shack on a map.

Be careful not to let Grandpa see you if you’re ever in the same room, because he will notify the Family that he is in danger.

If you sneak up on Grandpa with a bone scrap, you can attack him and immobilize him for a period of time. While he is incapacitated, he will not be able to use his Sonar to reveal Victims, and any extra abilities that were active will also be disabled.

Family members may have the You’ll Pay For That perk, and they will deal more damage to you until Grandpa recovers from being attacked. Just in case, make sure to stay far away from them during that downtime.

If you want to avoid a direct confrontation, then doing the exact opposite is another way to survive against Grandpa. Be quiet, stay hidden, and stick to the shadows. If you make it harder for the Family to collect blood from you,☂ they will be forced to scour for blood bucket🔥s. Grandpa will level up a lot slower this way.

For Family members, it’s important to have someone close to Grandpa in case a Victim tries to go on the offensive. For Victims, it’s important to utilize the time Grandpa is immobilized to run, make noise, an🐬d do what you can to make progress on your escape plan while avoiding the other Family members.
