Another sequence –you just may have heard of it—is Aerith’s dramatic and unexpected demise at the hands of Sephiroth/JENOVA at the close of the game’s first disk. Back in 1997, this was an incredible shock to the system, one of the m♈ost iconic and tragic moments in 𓄧gaming history.
Not only for the permanent loss of a core party member (a rarity in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy and RPGs generally) but for what her ꦍdeath meant for her allies, what it𝔍 represented. We only learn later that her seemingly worthless Materia was in fact Holy, the key to the planet’s very survival against Meteor.
Where does Robert Pattinson fit into all this? Well, (in Christopher Nolan’s thrilling spy flick Tenet), the subject turned to the actor’s favorite game of all time. His rꦗesponse was super interesting:
Final Fantasy VII is, needless to say, notꦗ exactly an uncommon pick for a personal favorite video game ever, but Pattinson . “Probably one of the only times I’ve cried in my life was when Aerith dies… my first love,” the actor went on, half-joking.
Pattinson taking over the bat cowl has been a controversial appointment since it was first made, and the brutal new trailer has only fanned the flames of curiosity. Ultimately, as ever, it’s for the actor to prove himself in the role, but one thing’s for sure: the image of Pattinson blubbing as Cloud lays Aerith’s body to rest beneath the water is one that makes him feel a lot more relatable than he ever has.
