Zombies are one of the most prominent monsters in modern pop culture. George Romero's Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead worked to popularize the creatures in America, and this trend was alive and kicking within games since the 1980s.
Naturally, video games have made use of the zombie concept with popular titles such as Left 4 Dead, Dead Rising, Resident Evil, and Telltale's The Walking Dead. Role-playing games have also brought zombies into their worlds, and there are plenty of engaging and fun RPGs that have made use of undead enemies.

Not only do they bleed poisonous blood, but they can heal themselves if they stand on blood-stained and poison-soaked surfaces.
They're a nuisance, but they mostly want to be left alone. Zombies and typical skeletal undead seem to be different in the world of Divinity. It appears that skeletons can be intelligent and remember their lives before they became undead, such as with Fane. If you so choose, you could RP the undead character you make as a zombie, which is all part and parcel of the enjoyment Divinity offers in spades.

Another D&D-inspired CRPG, Planescape: Torment also employs zombies. In fact, they are a common form of a worker in the𓂃 Mortuary of the Dustmen.

FromSoftware's Dark Souls is an action RPG that takes the idea of being undead in a new direction.
