With Dark Horse comics creating a Fenris centered canonical story, Dragon Age: Blue Wraith, a lot of fans are excited to see this broody elf in action again. Fenris was a romancable elf warrior in Dragon Age 2 and a lot of fans either loved or hated him for those unforgettably strong feelings about mages. He was an escaped slave from Tevinter, and that was the cause of a lo🌺t of pent-up anger, fear, and trust issues.

Fenris was voice acted by the talented Gideon Emery, and the voice is did for Fenris made many a fan swoon. If you are a fan of Fenris's voice, Emery has voice acted for a ton of other video games such as Balthier from Final Fantasy XII, Captain James Cutter in Halo Wars 2, and is even going to be Biggs' voice in the upcoming Final Fantasy VII remake.

However, that just makes this piece more unique. Fenris's choice of weapon was part of Bioware's Dragon Age 2 trend to give fant𝄹asy races weapons that were not cliche. For ex♍ample, the elf has a longsword and the dwarf is an archer.

Part of the reason some Dragon Age fans do not like Fenris is his feelings on mages. Since he was enslaved by a powerful mage in a society where mages ruled over everyone, he definitely has some valid concerns. Ho✨wever, that means he typically approves scenarios of mages being killed. This especially can bother fans who play mage Hawke. However, even if you play a mage, you can still romance Fenris. It'll likely be a rival romance, but some fans are into that dynamic.

Elf designs in Dragon Age have not been consistent, but they seemed to find their comfort zone in Dragon Age: Inquisition. In Dragon Age 2, a lot of fans disliked how lanky and almost anime-esque the elves bec🍸ame. So it is nice to see fan art that shows Fenris with a different body-type rather than just thin as a stick. We appreciate the beefed up arms. They actually make sense for someone who swings a giant sword all day.

Besides elves having an anime-like design in the second Dragon Age, ܫFenris especially felt like he was from an anime since he was a brooding man with white hair. Anime fans know many such characters.
In fact, fans theorize that his hair became white during the lyrium ritual that erased his memories and gave him his magic powers. That also sounds like someth♕ing out of an anime.

The artist, , did this fan art as a lighting study. They put a lot of emphasis on highlights and shadows, which can be very difficult for someone who is not a practiced artist. Theဣ different in lighting is especially apparent in Fenris's hair.
As for the r🃏ed cloth on his upper arm, it seems to be similar to the same cloth he wears on his wrist if Hawke romances him. It seems the artist decided to not include the spiky armor and instead treat us to a better view of Fenris' lyrium tatto💛os.
