We learned that the next episode of The Dark Pictures Antholog♔y would be called The Devil in Me in July when the trademark and official logo surfaced. At the time, it was assumed the upcoming entry would focus on some kind of demonic possession, but that doesn't appear to be the case here.

As seen in the first teaser, you'll face a fictional serial killer hell-bent on pain, torture, and death - that's a trifecta of horrifying abuse. Still, it's pretty common when it comes to horror villains - it's a key pillar that's widespread in movies, TV shows, books, comics, and games. But it'll be interesting to see how Supermassive approaches these themes for The Dark Pictures. It would be bold if you could play as the villain in some episodes, after all.

It's worth noting that these themes were briefly explored in Supermassive's 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Until Dawn — the studio's longest and most ambitious game yet, launched in 2015 exclusively for PS4.

For now, we don't have an exact launch window for The Dark Pictures: The Devil in Me. However, the message says that it will be the season one finale, so the game should also be available as a cross-gen title given that its predecessor was.

The Dark Pictures' latest entry House of Ashes is available starting today on PlayStation, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
