The Day Before publisher Mytona has announced that it is currently working with Steam to offer refunds to those upset after the game's absolutely disastrous launch.

Announced via a statement on the official Mytona Twitter account, the publisher has apologized to those that felt the game didn't meet their expectations and is currently in the process of working with Steam to offer refunds to anyone who feels wronged, regardless of play time. This comes mere hours after developer Fntastic announced that it will be shutting its doors claimജing t🌌hat the game had "failed financially".

Despite announcing that it will be shutting down earlier today, Mytona also claims that it is currently in contact with Fntastic regarding the future of the game. Fntastic was pretty clear when announcing that The Day Before won't receive any patches or content updates, claiming unpaid debt is the reason why it "lacks the funds to continue", though it's possible Mytona could come in with some extra funding or switch development teams.

Today, we announce the closure of Fntastic studio. Unfortunately, The Day Before has failed financially, and we lack the funds to continue. All income received is being used to pay off debts 𒈔to our partners.

The sudden closure of Fntastic just three days after the launch of The Day before had led some fans to believe that the entire thing was a scam, and those at the studio had cut and run with the money it managed to make over the weekend. Thankfully, it seems as though publisher Mytona is wil🅺ling to take responsibility for the 💜entire mess, and hopefully those of you that have been burned will get your refunds sooner rather than later.

Unfortunately, even if Mytona decides to go with a new developer to try and salvage The Day Before, it would need a Cyberpunk 2077 or No Man's Sky amount of effort to turn around its current predicament. The Day Before has been slapped with an "Overwhelmingly Negative" label on Steam after almost 20,000 user reviews, and it's not much better on the critics' front either.

Then again, The Day Before is still in early access, and it seems as thoug𝔉h there are plenty of people still urging Mytona to provide the funding and turn the game into the title that had been promised to them. Whether or not people will actually stick around long enough for any future developers to make that happen remains to be seen.
