Without a doubt, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is an outstanding sequel with a promising future. Even though this past year has not been all clear sailing after a lackluster release of the expansion Winds of Magic in late 2019, developer Fatshark has made great strides in reori♔enting the future direction of their game, and there is a lot to look forward too.
Why Winds Of Magic Underwhelmed
Winds of Magic only really brought one new map to the table and increased difficulty for a greater challenge, but without an increase in reward. Early in the DLC release, Beastmen were somewhat bugged with their spawns, and would at times teleport behind y♛ou or clip through walls, turning a difficult game into an unfair one at times.
In addition, players were introduced to Weaves, which required the use of a set of weave-forged weapons. This is an interesting addition to the game and is great for end-game players, but it offered little “new” content, only a variation on existing gameplay, in a man⛦ner of speaking.
To be clear, Winds of Magic is not a bad piece of ꦯDLC, not by a long shot, but it deviated from consumer expectations and left players wanting more. More maps, more new content, and more adventure. In a sense, this is the best critique that DLC could have, as there was nothing fundamentally wrong with what was made, it is simply that players expected more of what they already expected to satisfy theirಌ vermin-slaying appetites. In response, Fatshark is working overtime to ensure its players are happy with what lies ahead.
What Fatshark Is Doing To Improve
In September of last year, CEO Martin Wahlund this directly and moved to fundamentally shift how the game was developed. Rather than push forw🐼ard with features that have been promised to players, such as Versus mode, the goal was to first return to having a positive relationship between developer and consumer, stating that “There's no point in us pushing out new features if people don't like the current game."
To start, Fatshark announced in June the arrival of a new career option with the Grail Knight. The third season of the game thus game with something that players are constantly askingꦗ for and theory crafting over. Weather variations have also been added to existing maps, giving them a fඣresh feel that can ease the burnout that can come from grinding for materials.
The reception to the Grail Knight has been a resounding success, although some do question if gatin🐼g a new career behind premium ༺DLC is the right way to go.
The Future For Balance And Premium Content
Fatshark has been tight lipped on what lies ahead for future DLC, so we cannot speak to what that might look like. However, the developers have gone ahead and are clearly looking to make the core gameplay experience the best that it can be, and currently that comes in the form of the Vermintide 2 Big Balance Beta.
In early July, Fatshark that they were looking to shift the meta to something new with an overall goal of improving weapons that are picked less often and perform less optimally i𓆉n certain roles compared to alternatives. This balance patch has been organized through a combination of internal data and close talks with the community 🎶of players.
So far, so good. Gameplay is obviously at the core of having a great experience, and with Winds of Magic serving as an excellent lesson in managing player expectations, the future looks bright for Vermintide 2. With that said, players should not expect every expansion to be filled with new maps. Wahlund states that, “We did a lot of levels for the fir﷽st game, but after a while, players wanted to see other things than levels. They wanted to see characters, weapons, new game mo♔des, stuff like that. So I think it's important to have a mix."
With that in mind, it is a bit surprising not to hear an update on the creator of a map editor tool. Fatshark has made some excellent levels so far, but something like a map editor would surely be a blessing in the hands of a passionate and creative community. Looking back at a similar game in concept, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Left 4 Dead 2, the community made some of the abso⛎lute best levels in the game which served 𓆉as an excellent compliment to the official maps.
Imagine for a moment the potential of having certain community created maps receiving an official nod from Fatshark, a🅰nd how that might inspire players to become even more ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚvested in their favorite game.
In any case, we have no doubts that Fatshark is on the right track to keep Vermintide 2 fresh in the years to come.
