If you want to learn how to mine the ore and craft it into your own creations, you will need to find someone in Skaa🦩l Village to help you. That person, a local blacksmith, has gone missing, and finding him may give you a chance to learn the long-guarded sec✤rets of stalhrim smithing.

Starting A New Source Of Stalhrim

A man walks over to a pair of villagers dressed to survive the frigid cold of their home.

You can learn about the missing blacksmith when walking through Skaal Village. The chief, Fanari Strong-Voice, is arguing with Deor Woodcutter about searching for the village's missing blacksmith.

You can only begin this quest after completing 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Fate of the Skaal, part of the Dragonborn storyline.

Deor wants to search for Baldor Iron-Shaper, the blacksmith, as his sudden disappea♓rance is highly unusual. Fanari does not share his concerns and discourages him from personally investigating.

Talk to Deor after the conversation. He explains that Baldor's knowledge of stalhrim smithing would make him a ꦬvaluable target for people interested in the secret. He asks you to search for Baldor, suggesting a search southwest.

Finding Baldor Iron-Shaper

A warrior attacks a collection of enemies all holding magical swords on an ash-covered area.

The quest marker will direct you to the Abandoned Lodge found north of Raven Rock. You will find a collection of Thalmor operatives waiting outside the lodge. They will attack you if you get too close.

They are a good source of high elf blood for the quest 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Discerning the Transmundane.

Loot one of their bodies for a key and a note. The key will unlock the lodge, where you find Baldor wounded in the basement. He does not need any further help and tells you that the Thalmor are trying to learn how to use stalhrim and have stolen a map to a large deposit of the resource.

He tells you to reclaim the map from their leader, Ancarion.

Dealing With Ancarion

A man is shoved back by a shield as the bodies of his allies lay prone on the deck of a ship.

You can find the foreign operative on the north end of Solstheim, at Northshore Landing. He is waiting on a ship with another team of agents. One of his subordinates will stop you as you approach. If you ask to speak to the leader, you will get a chance to talk to Ancarion.

Persuading Ancarion

Ancarion will not be immediately hostile, though you must convince him if you want to resolve the situation without bloodshed. Persuading him that his attempt is a waste of time or intimidating him into leaving will let you take the map without needing to fight.

If you offer to make stalhrim weapons for him, he will give you the map to learn how to forge the weapons. Ancarion will remain on the island and purchase stalhrim weapons from you.

This final method is lucrative but will only be available if you have 75 Sneak. Failing to convince him of any option will have Ancarion turn hostile.

Defeating Ancarion

The Thalmor are a hard faction to love, and if you want to remove them from Nirn one agent at a time, you can attack them as soon as they are within reach. You will need to fight two Thalmor Guards and Ancarion himself.

Ancarion will attack you with magic and will likely summon a Storm Atronatch. He is no slouch and should be treated with caution. Make sure to loot his body for the map.

Completing A New Source Of Stalhrim

A man stand amidst coffins covered in a special kind of blue ice.

With the map in hand, return to Baldor. He has returned to Skaal Village and will teach you how to use stalhrim as a reward for your help. If you would like to create stalhrim equipment, you will then have to source some.

Finding Stalhrim

Baldor will show you the Stalhrim Source, an otherwise unmarked area that allows you to gather 30 chunks of stalhrim at a time. With it, you 💯wil🐼l be able to craft the equipment.

You can only extract stalhrim with an Ancient Nordic Pickaxe, which can be purchased from Baldor or earned by completing a short quest for Glover Mallory.

You will be able to find more Stalhrim deposits across Solstheim at the many barrows that dot the island. While not as bountiful as the Stalhrim Source, they will help produce the items en masse.

Creating Stalhrim Equipment

Stalhrim equipment can be created at a forge, under its own category. It is available as both light and heavy armor and can be converted into all kinds of weapons. They are made with stalhrim, quicksilver ingots, steel ingots, and leather strips.

You will need the Ebony Smithing perk to make stalhrim equipment.

They are unique in their affinity for Frost. Enchantments that help you resist or deal more Frost Damage will be 25 percent stronger on stalhrim items.
