Though short, this quest will take you through some hidden and forgotten places in the College of Winterhold as you learn more about the mysterious floating magical orb that you uncovered in Saarthal. There is the opportunity to learn about some of the College's many secrets through this quest if you choose to pay attention.

Starting Good Intentions

Two men gaze up at a floating magical orb covered in energy.

This quest starts after completing Hitting The Books. Urag will tell you that Night of Tears has some information about the orb and to share this with Tolfdir. Go down to the main hall where you will find the old mage waiting for you.

Night of Tears details the history of Saarthal and offers some hints as to the orb's history.

While admitting that he can't stop looking at the orb, Tolfdir begins inspecting it though Ancano, the Thalmor Advisor, interrupts the session. Ancano is fuming that a member of the Psijic Order is looking for you specifically. He demands you to go to the Arch-Mage's Quarters to speak to Quaranir, the Psijic Mage.

Finding The Augur Of Dunlain

Mages speak with under the effect of a magical field

As soon as you enter, Quaranir stops time and speaks to you in private. Though incredibly cryptic, he makes it clear that you need to act. The only hint he can provide is that you need to find the Augur of Dunlain, with no indication as to what it is. He resumes time and plays dumb with Ancano until you leave.

Asking any of the College Members about the Augur will point you to either Tolfdir or Mirabelle. They will tell you that the Augur is a former student located in the Midden Dark. You will then get a quest marker to th𝓰e entrance, in a small corner of the College.

Tolfdir will be easier to ask as he does not require a persuasion check, unlike Mirabelle.

Getting Through The Midden

A man runs through an ancient ruin covered in snow and lit by pale blue magic

The Midden is a half-frozen and dangerous part of the College, filled with undead and other failed experiments. You will have to kill a lone draugr and enter The Midden Dark, not far from the entrance.

You will have to fight Ice Wraiths, spiders, and draugr. Be prepared for close-ranged fights.

Inside The Midden Dark, cross an icy bridge and keep following that path until you get close enough to see the quest marker just beyond a locked door. Interacting with the door will get The Augur of Dunlain to warn you to turn back. Interacting a second time will open the door.

Though the conversation will be cryptic and hard to follow, you are told that you must find the Staff of Magnus and that Arch-Mage Savos will have an idea of how to get it.

With those instructions given, follow your path back to The Midden. You will not be able to leave the same way you entered. Return to the area you killed the draugr, and head east. At the Atronach Forge, turn north and find the exit.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Atronach Forge is a powerful way to get rare items and summonable minions, though its recipes are 💜esoteric and hard to find.

From here, you will be able to talk to Savos and end the quest. He will give you a Mage's Circlet as a reward. This will start the next quest, Revealing The Unseen.
