Starting Innocence Lost
You will need to speak to Aventus Aretino at the Aretino Family Residence in Windhelm to start the quest. The young boy will be inside, chanting an incantation next to a skel🔯eton and human meat.
While you could walk in directly, you would also get a quest marker to speak to Aventus through the following encounters.

The gruff thug in Riften may mention it when you ask about the Dark Brotherhood. |
Aventus will be overjoyed to see you, believing that he had successfully summoned an assassin from the Dark Brotherhood. Though you can try to convince him otherwise, he will still insist that you kill Grelod the Kind for mistreating her charges at her orphanage.
Killing Grelod The Kind
Your target is in Honorhall Orphanage at 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Riften. She will be berating the orphans and threatening them with beatings while being an all-around unpleasant person. To cheer the children up, you can kill her right in front of them and listen to them cheer.
Grelod is weak and will die in a single hit. You can be as creative as you want when you approach this job. The orphans are so happy with your deed that they won't report you to the Guards, letting you get away with murder.
Killing Grelod outside the orphanage will be more challenging. The rest of Riften has a stricter interpretation of the law and will report you.
Completing Innocence Lost
Aventus will be pleased to hear that you completed his contract, giving you the Aretino Family Heirloom as payment. While you may appear to have merely done a good deed, other people have taken note.
After some time, you will receive a Mysterious Note, a black handprint with the words "We Know" on it. The next time you sleep, you will awaken in a shack at the start of the quest 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:With Friends Like These, potentially starting a relatioౠnship with the Dark Brotherhood𓆉.
