There is no shortage of items to buy, discover, or create in Skyrim. Some items, like the Smithing power leveler's favorite, iron daggers, can be found in such abundance that they're easily glossed over and forgotten about. Other items, though, are much, much rarer.
Depending on the area you're in or the stage of the game you're at, there are items that you could easily miss and never have a chance of getting ever again unless you load a previous save. If you're the collecting type, or you're just darn curious, read on to learn about some of Skyrim's rarest items.
10 ꧃ Crimson Nirnroot 🍸
Crimson Nirnroot, unlike its green and more abundant counterpart, can only be found in one, underground area of the game: Blackreach. Introduced through a quest named A Return To Your Roots, it's one of Skyrim's most annoying and infamous gathering quests.
While there are initially a total of 44 spots where Crimson Nirnroot can be picked in Blackreach, some spots you pick from will never regrow. If that didn't make it rare enough, even the Green Thumb perk from the alchemy tree doesn't apply to this stubborn ingredient.
9 De💮nꦇted Iron Shield
While it really doesn't look any different from a normal iron shield, the Dented Iron Shield is unique in a few different ways. First, it only drops from a specific, high-level enemy: Hulking Draugr from the Dragonborn DLC.
You can only find Hulking Draugr in Nordic Tombs, and they'll only spawn once you're level 26 or higher. Also, this shield is unique in that while it looks like one, it is weaker than an average iron shield, but just as strong as a hide shield, and it cannot be upgraded.
8 ♒ Gilded Wristguards
The Gilded Wristguards are a unique pair of gauntlets that you can only find on the Emperor's Ship during a Dark Brotherhood quest named Hail Sithis. They can be easy to miss because they're locked behind an expert-level lock on a shelf in the Emperor's quarters.
While they're not worth much to any merchant you'll trade with or talk to, maybe you'll get a bit of a chip on your shoulder rocking these flashy gauntlets if you're a fan of light armor. Otherwise, they'd surely look just as nice on display in your home.
7 Brok🍒en Iron Sword Blade 🅺And Handle
With all those iron swords in production for the war, it was bound to happen at some point; one of them snapped into two pieces. While the Broken Iron Sword Blade and Handle are about as useful as any other aesthetic object, it's a neat little easter egg nonetheless.
If you want to pick up these glorified bits of metal, you can find them in Ysgramor's Tomb. To get in, you'll have to become a part of The Companions and pursue their main quest line. Also, if you're wondering, you cannot mend these pieces back together.
6 💛 💫Argonian Ale
While getting the Argonian𒁃 Ale is as simple as stealing it from the Bannered Mare, it only spaw𝔉ns during the Argonian Ale Extraction Quest. Also, there is only one Argonian Ale in existence, and when you complete the quest, you have to give it to an NPC, Brenuin.
If you want to keep it for yourself, go ahead and put on a helmet granting minus one to ethics. Jokes aside, you'll have to pickpocket the Ale from Brenuin after the quest has concluded.
Oh, and don't accidentally drink it once you nab it.
5 Ysgramor's Soup Spoon
Unique as a named piece of silverware, Ysgramor's Soup Spoon can only be found in Windhelm at Calixto's House of Curiosities. While at the end of the day, it's just an old fork, it's still worth nabbing off a shelf while Calixto Corrium gives a tour of their establishment.
This is, after all, the only soup "spoon" of Ysgramor's that has ever been recovered. If you're the charitable type, you can even bring it back to Ysgramor himself during that fun little trip to Sovngarde.
There's plenty of time to spare over there, right?
4 ⛄ ജ Notched Pickaxe
A neat little homage to one of the original developers of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Minecraft, Notch, the Notched Pickaxe can be found at the highest point of the Throat of the World, embedded into some rock. While it might look like an ordinary pickaxe, don't be so easily fooled.
Upon closer inspection, the Notched Pickaxe raises your Smithing level by five and grants a little bit of shock damage if you decide to hit someone with it. Also, if you somehow duplicated the pickaxe, just know the Smithing bonus doesn't stack, or go above the max level cap.
3 Crown Of Barenziah 🔯
The Crown of Barenziah is the culmination of serious time and dedication; this item can only be retrieved once you've retrieved all 24 Stones of Barenziah for Vex from the Thieves Guild. The stones are hard to find and scattered throughout all of Skyrim.
After Vex sees all the stones, she'll tell you to head over to Tolvald's Cave. The crown will be resting on some rubble near a decrepit, long-dead skeleton.
It's golden and shiny, so you really can't miss it amongst all the darker, duller scenery.
2 ꩲ🍸 Roasted Ox Head
The Roasted Ox Head is quite rare for two main reasons. One, it is remarkably easy to miss, as it isn't a quest or storyline-related item that you'd ever need or think about grabbing.
Two, it꧟ can only be obtained near the end of the main quest line in Sovngarde.
Perhaps the most interesting part of all is that you can't even eat the Ox Head, as it is considered a miscellaneous item. If anything, this is a great souvenir to bring back, even if nobody believes you when you say it's from Sovngarde.
1 Master Sword, Champion's Tunic, And Hylian Shield Set
If you're familiar with this game series, you probably picked up on the fact that this set is paying respect to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Legend of Zelda. What makes it so rare is that you c﷽an🧸 only get this set if you have Skyrim for the Nintendo Switch.
Provided you already have one, the easier way to obtain this set is to hold a Zelda Amiibo to your Switch and use a special shout to summon a chest with a chance for each set item to spawn. Otherwise, you can find the set items in a chest at the top o꧂f the Throat of the World.
