Having discovered the lost history of Alduin's Wall, the search to find the World Eater's weakness has narrowed. Learning that a Shout was used to defeat him the first time, the Blades need you to ask the only people in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Skyrim who specialize in the matter, the Graybeards.
This is a short, narrative-focused quest that sets up the rest of the game's conflict with Alduin while putting you on the path to be an even greater dragon-slayer and warrior. You may need a guide to ascend to the highest point in Tamriel, the peak at The Throat Of The World.
Starting The Throat Of The World
This quest starts right at the end of Alduin's Wall, as Delphine struggles to guess who might know a shout powerful enough to defeat the first dragon. You suggest the Graybeards, the hermits that taught you the words for Unrelenting Force and set you on the path to retrieve the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller.
Returning to High Hrothgar, you look for Arngeir in a bid to discover this legendary Shout.
Ascending The Throat Of The World
Though the old sage has his reservations, his fellow Graybeards remind him that denying you the knowledge is not his to make. That decision lies with Paarthurnax, a wise being living at the very peak of the mountain.
Gathering in the courtyard behind the monastery, the Graybeards teach you three words of a wholly new shout, Clear Skies. As they explain, the path to the summit has been blocked by an eternal blizzard. Attempting to walk through will hurt and quickly kill you.
Clear Skies can be used outside of the quest, letting you manipulate the weather into a sunny day.
While it has no direct gamep🐻lay benefits, bend🌳ing the weather to your will is always a trip.
Clear Skies will be able to clear the blizzard for a short time. You will have to use it to open a path as you climb up the mountain by removing sections of blizzard as you advance.
Along the way, you will encounter ice wraiths hidden in the sleet. These enemies can be hard to spot, especially if you are making the ascent during the day. Their damage, however, is not hard to miss.
If you are struggling to defeat the ice wraiths, use fire against them, even the Flames spell works wonders.
The way up the mountain isn't too long. With sufficient uses of Clear Skies, you'll eventually make it to the summit and the mysterious hermit at its peak.
Meeting Paarthurnax
The hermit that the Greybeards look up to is none other than an ancient dragon. As he explains, he took up residence high above Skyrim t༒o watch for the return of his brother, Alduin.
He will demonstrate the shout Fire Breath, allowing you to learn a word and requires you to demonstrate your prowess back to him by shouting back at him, dispelling any doubt as to your identity.
A unique weapon, the Notched Pickaxe, is at the very peak of the mountain.
With formalities settled, Paarthurnax will explain how you can learn the shout that defeated Alduin; by using an Elder Scroll. This starts the next quest, Elder Knowledge.
