Launching three years after the original, The Escapists 2 brought along with it brand-new prisons and escape plans for players to test out. The game offers eight main maps, three transport prisons, and six DLC prisons. As you progress, so does the difficulty of these prisons, proving a steady challenge that will test the mettle of those brave enough to try them - though the difficulty isn't what makes the maps stand out.
Instead, it's the design and available escape routes that make some simply better than the rest, as well as DLC and transport maps that encourage a new style of play and subsequent replays.
10 🍷 H.M.P. Offshore
H.M.P. Offshore is one of the main prisons and can actually be quite tricky to find items in as it has nine floors you can explore, meaning although not being a particularly tricky prison to escape, it can be a tedious one with how long it may take to locate the items needed. There are several ways to escape Offshore, including some of the best escape routes in the game. You can escape by boat or helicopter, or even with the help of dolphins if that's more your style.
Its basic design and large area do let it down a bit as it doesn't show as much variety as others, but it's an excellent map for improving 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:your prison break skills.
9 🐷K🤡.A.P.O.W. Camp
K.A.P.O.W. Camp is a strange one, looking a lot like the H.M.P. map but providing a much better schedule, allowing you to get the most out of your free time. There are three ways to escape but achieving either of these is challenging because in-room cameras make it awkward to search through others' desks. However, ge🐲t through th𒀰is, and you might stand a chance.
You can escape on a bike, a glider, or by cutting through the fence around the prison. All three routes will require a higher level of intellect and resources you'll need to scavenge to find.
8 Fort T💟undra
Classed as one of the harder maps in the game, Fort Tundra is an escapist's nightmare, taking place in a snowy Siberian landscape. The short amount of free time and lengthy work times ramp up the difficulty, although the high-level security is what brings frustration.
Setting the prison in a snowy atmosphere was the best choice for the map as a varied season revitalizes the overall feel of thiওs prison. The challenging aspects also make Fort Tundra increasingly enjoyable as you have to plan ahead, crafting specific items if y☂ou want a shot of safely escaping.
7 Area 17
Acting as a reference to Area 51, the Area 17 map takes place at a secret military base with a giant UFO next to it, which is pretty difficult to miss. Speaking of the UFO, you can escape in this♍ spacecraft if you follow༒ the correct route, flying your way to freedom! That is if you can get past the tight security and toughed up guards beforehand.
The schedule might be even mor🔯e bizarre than the UFO itself, as inmates wake up at 4 AM and go to bed at 9✤ PM, restricting you to an earlier bedtime but providing a good hour of darkness in the morning.
6 😼 Big Top Bre🐈akout
As the first DLC map on this list, Big Top Breakout still manages to include some of the best DLC-related moments. The map is circus-themed, with prisoners forced into becoming circus acts. When you sit and think about it for a while, it's quite cruel for these prisoners to be pushed into this life, but it does open doors for wacky humor.
This wackiness♕ is seen in everything, from the jobs that involve lion feeding and face painting to the escape options where you can shoot yourself out of a human cannon to get across the prison walls.
5 Wicked Ward ღ ඣ
Anyone with a lick of passion for horror will adore the DLC prison, Wicked Ward, featuring elements like unique items and Halloween-decorated facilities. The jobs are themed to Halloween and horror goodness, too, including having to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:do laundry for Vampires or carve pumpkins.
But the main draw of The Escapists is the act of escaping the facility you're being held at, and it's definitely worth playing through to find these routes. In single-player, you can open a coffin with a key to escape, and if playing with someone else, you can leave the prison with the help of a monster, whose ending is appropriately named "Monster Mash."
4 U.S.S. Anomaly 🎶
Another alien-themed map, U.S.S. Anomaly, takes place in space, and everyone knows that 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:in space, no one can hear you scream. This is why you vow to escape from this space prison and return t✨o earth. To do this, there are a few routes available. You can find a space pod or spaceship and fly away as fast as humanly possible, or you can get a jetpack and sort of hover away.
Making any sort of escape will be a miracle as most count this as the most brutal map of the game, perhaps of the entire series. There are a lot of keys to collect, high-tech security guards, and minimal space for silly mistakes. Maybe this challenge makes the map such a delight to replay as it's both tricky and unique in its premise.
3 Cou🤪gar Creek Railroad
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Cougar Creek Railroad is vastly different from others in the game. Instead of the usual system of entering prison, getting a job, searching chests, and finally, escaping, this map sees you on a train with multiple carriages, all pertaining to different facilities. For example, you may enter a carriage which is a medical room, and then another, w💎hich contains contraband items.
Your goal is to escape this train before it reaches its destination, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:which means there is a time limit. The added pressure of finishing it within a certain amount of time can catch up with you fast, but it's what makes accomplishing it feel all the greater. Cougar Creek tried something different from what the maps usually present, and it worked exceptionally well.
2 ꦗ Air Force Con
After the success of Cougar Creek Railroad, Team17 released another transport map, this time set on a moving plane. Unlike its predecessor, there's a lot more flexibility, and rooms don't feel as cramped as they do on the train map. All areas outside your prison cell are restricted, 168澳洲幸运5🧸开奖网:making stealth the number one priority. It's also the perfect excuse to get yourself an officer's uniform as soon as possible.
The different play styles required to escape and these escape methods working well alongside the map itself make Air Force Con one of the best maps in The Escapists 2. It's not the best of the best but is very nearly there.
1 Dun🐓geons And Duct Tape
Featuring all the greatness of what makes DLC maps in The Escapists so memorable, the medieval-inspired prison named Dungeons and Duct Tape takes you back to how times once were. However, the main highlight is that you get to steal a knight's armor and hide in it, ready to ambush the guards.
It's a pretty short experience as far as Escapists' levels go. Still, regardless of this, the style and decoration of buildings and characters, unique items, and routes that require you to collect makeshift armor to fight your way out make this not only a product of Escapists excellence but also a fantastic nod to medieval fantasy.
