Mastery levels determine your available Weapon Module slots, Descendant Module slots, equipment slots, and storage slots in The First Descendant. Here's how you level your Mastery rank.
You earn Mastery experience by simply playing the game, defeating enemies, and completing missions. You'll earn mastery experience the first time you complete a mission, or when you level-up without socketed modules.
How To Rank Up Your Mastery Level
Once you've got the pop-up that the first Mastery rank is available, head back to Albion - the main hub town.
Here, you can visit the Prime Hands - i🐷t looks like a hand on the mini-map or world map.

Enter th⭕is area and walk up to the machine to the right. Here you can rank up your Mastery level which can be done after a short cutscene (skippable after the first time.)
You can quickly return to this area 🐠to rank up your mastery by fast traveling back to town whenever you level up.
It's a good idea to quickly level your Mastery whenever you get a notification of a new level - you get extra capacity cost which will greatly increase the power of your weapons and skills.
How To Level Up Your Mastery Level Quickly
The easiest way to level up your Mastery is to complete the main mission quests. Every time you complete a new mission you'll get bonus experience that goes towards your mastery level.
There are forty possible mastery levels. Once you enter the endgame, you'll be completing boss fights (special operations, mostly) to grind for gear and the other Descendants you want to unlock. Mastery level should automatically continue to ౠlevel 🦹in the background.
