“We’re definitely doing it. A lot of people are [asking], ‘Are you𝔍 delaying it? The Oscars are being postponed, are you postponing The Game Awards?’ We are absolutely not,” Keighley said, adding that more details about the event will be revealed in the coming weeks.
First held in 2014, The Game Awards also showcases new games and grants an in-depth look into forthcoming titles. Traditionally, digital storefronts like Steam, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Xbox Games Store, Nintendo eShop, and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:PlayStation Store, will mark down the nominated games a few dꩵays before andꦚ after the event.
Keighley had previou♍slꦑy worked on the Spike Video Game Awards (VGA) from 2003 to 2013. The statuette awarded to the winners at The Game Awards was designed by Keighley and Weta Workshop and represents "the evolution of the video game medium by way of an angel that ascends through digital building blocks."
Although the host doesn’t expect to have 10,000 people in the same room for the show, he does anticipate doing a live show, sim🌞ilar to what Gamescom - which had more than two million simultaneous spectators on opening night - did this year.
