If you think the discussion and debate over HBO's The Last of Us was done, think again. While it's not legacy media knocking up further column inches over that decision this time, it's actually the MTV Movie Awards that are causing a stir, dropping a smooch-sized rock into the stream of discourse. While the annual MTV Movie Awards are not considered in the same presigious breath as the Golden Globes, BAFTAs, or the Academy Awards, the scrappier awards ceremony has proven itself to have its finger-on-the-pulse in times past. However, one of its latest nominations has fans of the show thinking MTV is a bit behind the times. For this year's edition of the awards, The Last of Us features in the♍ saliva sharing category although it might not be the most romantic of kisses. And this is what has drawn fan ire.

Just so's you know HBO's widely praised adaptation of The Last of Us was also nominated for Best Show, Best Hero (Pedro Pascal's Joel), Breakthrough Performance (Bella Ramsey as Ellie), and Best Duo. And it's also in the Best Kiss category for the "kiss" between Tess (Anna Torv) and a clicker (Philip Prajoux). This kiss was quite shocking when it happened, since nothing like it occurs in the games, and it inspired its own little deluge of comment and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:yes we at TheGamer also weighed in.

But there's b💮een quite a number of disbelieving fans who think MTV made an error in nominating the clicker "kiss" in place of the more tender and genuine kisses that have occurred in the show elsewhere, notably between Bill and Frank in the acclaimed episode three, and the kiss before doom between Ellie and Riley in episode seven.

"The Last of Us had two of the greatest kisses across TV and yet the MTV Awards would rather give♛ a forced kiss a nomination over the two beautiful queer one⛎s", one fan, on Twitter. "Make it make sense". Over on The Last of Us HBO series , there's also discussion of the nomination, with one upvoted comment saying "Is this a joke?"

For the record, other nominees in Best Kiss are between Harry Styles and David Dawson in My Policeman; Madison Bailey and Rudy Pankow🥀 in Outer Banks; Riley Keough and Sam Claflin in Daisy Jones & The Six; and Selena Gomex and Cara Delevingne in Only Murders in the Building. Perhaps the most famous winner of MTV Movie Award's Best Kiss was bet♛ween Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst in 2002's Spider-Man.
