Character moments define 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Last of Us Part II. Ellie and Abby's journeys are full of moments that pull at your heartstrings or cause you to feel anger of your own. They make decisions that affect others as much as themselves with a whole supporting cast behind them. But those side characters are some of the best components of The Last of Us Part II, making choices of their own, affecting gameplay, and giving the player people to relate to as they also experience the horrible things 𒐪Ellie and Abby do throughout thꦫe story.

My personal favorite new character is Dina. Ever since she was revealed in the trailers, there was something about her that I was intrigued by. She seemed different than everybody I'd encountered in The Last of Us world so far, and I couldn't wait to meet her. She ended up being a constant companion and foil for Ellie, but also so much more than that. She experienced tragedy, loss, and suffering that wasn't highlighted as much as that of Ellie or Abby. Her journey through Seattle was long and tortuous, and ended in what could only be defined as heartbreak.

As I mentioned above, Dina felt different. Her positivity radiated, especially in the beginning, and I couldn't help but smile as I participated in a snowball fight with her in the opening minutes of the game. She was fun and loving and didn't care what people thought of her. She was so unapologetically herself.

Dina was also the picture of loyalty. She didn't hesitate when deciding to travel to Seattle with Ellie, a trip that would undoubtedly be dangerous for her. She knew that if Ellie had been aware of her pregnancy, she would have wanted her to stay. But Dina couldn't bear the idea of Ellie facing this alone, so she kept her mouth shut. We talk so often about the sacrifices the protagonists made, but Dina left her entire life for Ellie. She put herself and her future child in danger, almost dying multiple times in the name of being there for the one she loved. But was it all worth it?

Seattle was traumatic for Dina. She was almost killed when captured by the WLF, and when she was in Abby's clutches, Ellie begs her to stop and reveals that Dina is pregnant. But Abby is ruthless. Ellie had killed Mel who was also pregnant, so wouldn't it be right for Abby to take the same actions?

The only reason she doesn't is because of Lev. He's seen her as a better person, and because of that, she lets both Ellie and Dina go. But even so, Dina lost the father of her child and watched Ellie, the person she loved so dearly, go through terrible things while in Seattle. Everyday she would come back, bloodied and bruised, and Dina would watch and help where she could. But imagine how awful it would be to see the one you loved go through so much all for the sake of revenge.

Even after all that when things seem to be improving, tragedy finds Dina once again. After the events in Seattle, her and Ellie settle down, start a farm, and raise a child together. Things seem calm, peaceful even, until Ellie continues having flashbacks of Joel's death. This, along with a surprise visit from a revenge-seeking Tommy, cause Ellie to search for Abby all over again.

Ellie and Dina in The Last Of Us 2.

This is, in my mind, the worst thing Ellie could've done to Dina. Dina had sacrificed so much for their family and you can see the hurt in her eyes as she begs her to stay. She knows she can't do this all over again, knows that it'll torture her. What's worst about it all is that Ellie knows this and decides to leave anyway.

My favorite scene in the original Last of Us comes when Joel finds Ellie in an abandoned house after running away from Tommy's. She's reading a diary, marveling at the small inconveniences people dealt with before the outbreak. It all felt so small and trivial to her. But the real emotion of the scene comes as Joel claims that she has no idea what loss is. Ellie goes on to say that "Everyone I have cared for has either died or left me." It's a powerful scene and even more heartbreaking to see its parallels at the end of The Last of Us Part II.

Once Ellie returns to the farm, Dina has packed up and left. Ellie is left alone, experiencing the loss of a loved one once again. While there's 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:speculation about the ending, the betrayal Dina felt was no doubt devastating. Someone who was relentlessly loyal and loving never deserved something like that. That moment in her life, along with those in Seattle, should be descꦛribꦗed as nothing short of tragic. She did so much and was still left with so little.

The Last of Us Part II is available now exclusively for PlayStation 4.
