Many of the most memorable moments in games are the boss fights. These are the images and feelings that first come to mind when discussing your favorite games. While it's true that boss battles alone will not make or break a game, the fact is that a few truly great b⛦oss fights can take a "just ok" game and turn it into aꦆ fan favorite.
The168澳洲幸运5开奖网: Legend of Zelda series has given us 🌟some of the greatest boss battles ever, but not all bosse🌃s are created equal and neither are the fights. Here are the top 10 Zelda games based on their boss fights.
10 🍎 10🅷. The Minish Cap
The quantity of bosses Minish Cap is low (only 6). You would think with so few bosses the Nintendo team would take the time to make them all phenomenal. Howev🀅er, most of them are just average. Luckily, the highlights bring the game up to a solid boss selection overall. The final boss is the superstar of this roster, as it is an elaborate multi-phase fight that makes use of the majority ofꦏ the items, giving the battle excitement and depth.
9 🌳 9. Breathꦡ of the Wild
Similar to Minish Cap, BotW has a low number of bosses. It works a lot better here though, as 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Breath of the Wild's combat system is more nuanced and complex, allowing more to be done within the fights. While they lack variety in terms of visual design, all of the Ganonblights are a lot of fun (Thunderblight in particular) and Master Kohga bleeds so much personality th🐻at you can't help but love him.
8 8. Link's Aw🌼akeni♏ng
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Link's Awakening is an extremely well-designed game, but one thing it was inconsisten𓄧t with was its bosses. The boss roster is hit-or-miss, with the misses (Angler Fish, Facade, and Hot Head) being big misses. The hits, however (Slime Eel, Evil Eagle, and the Nightmares) are bullseyes. It also has the advantage of having a large number of bosses with a diverse roster.
7 7. Ocarina of Time 💝
It's a slow start. Ocarina of Time's "child trio" bosses (Gohma, King Dodongo, and Barinade) don't make much of an impact. Thankfully, that c🎉hanges entering the second half of the game when the adult bosses get involved.
With the exception of Morpha, whose fight is incredibly underwhelming, tꩲhe lineup is tremendous. Whether you're discovering the real Phantom Ganon, hitting Volvagia square in the face with a hammer, or fighting the simple yet surprisingly creative Twinrova, ♕the later bosses definitely pick up the slack.
6 🔯 6. A Link Between Worlds
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:A Link Between Worlds takes the bosses of A Link to the Past and breathes new life into them. Several of them use the game's wall merging mechanic in creative ways, one of the more noteworthy ones being Stalblind, where it's used to confuse t🍃he boss, allowing for an opening to attack.
Other highlights include the Gemesaur King for incorporating a Rupee motif into its design and the final boss for being an excellent ending. The game does a g🌟reat job of making all 11 of the bosses fun, not a single one feels dull thanks to how tight💖ly designed they all are.
5 ꦜ 5. Orac꧅le of Seasons
Oracle of Seasons has a solid lineup of bosses. They steadily ramp up in difficulty, with t🔯he first few being extremely easy, and the later ones upping the challenge, with no glaring spikes in-between. Digdogger is a fun fight for the imaginative use it has of the Magnetic Gloves.
Fittingly, the highlight boss is the final one, General Onox. He's one of the very few bosses in the 2D Zeldas to use the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:side-scrolling style of gameplay. Combine this with the beautiful sprite art and how full of ꧃action it is, 🐻the fight is amazingly well done.
4 ⛄ 4. Oraclꦫe of Ages
While Oracle of Ages does have a dud boss in the Head Thwomp, the rest of them more than make up for it. Shadow Hag is a brilliant fight where the boss does truly act as your shadow, needing the ricocheting abilities ꦆfrom the Seed Shooter to hit it, but far and away the most original one is the boss of the Crown Dungeon, Smog.
The basis of the Smog fight is that it splits up into smaller versions of itself and attaches to blocks in the room, moving in an endless loop. The Cane of Somaria must be used to connect the blocks and force Smog to become whole again, making it vulnerable. If you've been putting that together, then you've figured out that Smog is not so much a fight as a puzzle and a really fun one at that. Smog is a one-of-a-kind boss in the series, which is honestly a shame. The idea of a bo🍌ss that's more puzzle focused has so much potent🌃ial behind it.
3 💃 3. S💝kyward Sword
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Skyward Sword is extremely polished in a lot of ways, and the bosses are definitely one of them. Thanks to the game's extremely creative combat, inventory, an🅘d general design, the boss roster is something stellar. The second boss, Scaldera has a lot incorporated into it, using the bombs a𒉰nd the extra precise swordplay in that game to its advantage, as well as having an original design for an arena. Koloktos is also an amazing battle. With its music, combat, and sense of scale, it's a joy of a boss to fight.
2 🅘 2. Spirit Tr✅acks
The 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Nintendo DS is capable of doing a lot of things other systems cannot, and Spirit Tracks fully embraces what makes the system uniqueꦐ. Fraaz makes excellent use of the Boomerang, allowing the playe🦋r to target specific torches with fire or ice elements and use them appropriately. Skeldritch in general is a masterful boss, with the Sand Wand being such a fun item, using it to stop and move the boulders onto the various catapults placed in the room and combining it with the Bow to hit the switches to activate them from a distance makes for an intricate and exciting battle.
1 1. Phantom Hourglass 🌳
Admittedly, Phantom Hourglass gets a lot of things wrong, but something it absolutely excels at is boss design. Every single boss oozes creativity, even the first one, Blaaz. This boss requires you to use the DS's top screen to trach how many horns each part of the boss has, and hit them in the order of smallest to largest with the Boomerang. The intricacies just increase as the bosses progress. Pl൲ayers have to use the bosses own perspective when battling Crayk to determine its location once it turns invisible. They must also create a giant slingshot with the Grappling Hook to make Gleeok hit itself, or catapult upwards to ridiculous heights to smash a colossal stone golem named Eox with a giant hammer. Every Phantom Hourglass boss fight is outstanding.
