has made a small but very appreciated change to the way that treasure chests work, fixing one of Breath of the Wild's big inventory problems.
As all of you know by this point, is widely regarded as one of the best games of all time thanks to its truly open interpretation of Hyrule, malleable mechanics, incredible music, and more. It's very, very good, basically. However, that doesn't mean that it's free of flaws, as there are a few things that hold it back.
One of those things is rather minor, but something that players who have put a lot of time into Breath of the Wild have complained about a lot. In that game, if your inventory was full of weapons or armour (and because of the infamous weapon degradation, it likely always was), then you'd have to sit through the chest opening animation before being told that you couldn't pick up the item, forcing you to go in your inventory, chuck out something, and then do it all over again.
Again, it was a pretty minor problem in the grand scheme of things, but it was something that happened on a regular basis to almost every player. Thankfully, it seems that was aware of that issue as it's fixed it in Tears of the Kingdom. , if you open a chest when your inventory is full, you'll now automatically be able to select which item in your inventory you want to swap it out for, ensuring you don't have to sit through the animation twice.
The new feature was showcased in a clip💃 from insomnia that shows them opening a chest in a Shrine and instantly being able to swap the new weapon for something else. Alongside the clip, insomnia said, "Being able to automatically swap out items after opening a chest when your slots are full is going to make my life so much easier! I’m glad we got a little quality of life update here!"
Interestingly, Nintendo actually shared a few of the quality of life updates for Tears of the Kingdom before it launched, but hadn't mentioned this one at all so far, despite it being something that fans have been asking about for quite some time. Some of the other notable features that have been added this time around include a new cookbook that shows recipes that Link has discovered and Shrines now beౠing easier to find thanks to a glowing 𝓡light.
