The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Shrines often feature challenging puzzles, but sometimes just getting a Shrine toꦆ appear is a puzzle unto itself. This is the case with the Jochisiu Shrine in West Necluda, which has a whole side quest attached to it.
The Keys Born Of Water task will give you access to the Shrine at the river entrance to the famous Dueling Peaks. However, you’ll have to solve a puzzle that can be𓆏 tricky to get your mind around. How can Link control and shape♉ water? Here’s how.
Where To Find Keys Born Of Water And Jochisiu Shrine
The Keys Born of Water side quest and Jochisiu Shrine location are in West Necluda, just to the west of Dueling Peaks. It's a little northeast of the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower. If you’re following the road that goes between the peaks, alongside Squabble River, you’ll see a large chunk of fallen sky island covered in distinctive yellow trees.
Just under this are a Steward Construct and three standing tablets with diamond-shaped slots. There are also some Zonai emitters on the right, some , and an extinguished campfire. Talk to the Steward Construct and it♓’ll give you the Keys Born of Water task.
Keys Born Of Water Puzzle Solution
The Steward Construct says that offering three “keys born of water” to the altars will reveal the Shrine, but it doesn’t offer any guidance on how to turn water into keys. The answer is simple, really: by creating ice keys, which you can then move using Ultrahand.
First, check the nearby Zonai Emitters by hitting them to find one ice and one fire. Use the Fire Emitter to start the nearby bonfire. Grab an Ice Emitter with Ultrahand and take it to the river. Activate it and aim the freezing blast at the wa🥂ter, which will creඣate a square sheet of ice.
Pick this ice block up with Ultrahand and take it to the altar. Rotate it until it’s diamond-shaped, like the altars. Assuming it’s still big and has🥃n’t melted much, slot this into the largest altar on the left.
If it worked, the altar should retract into the ground.
How To Unlock Jochisiu Shrine
The slots for the second and third altars are significantly smaller, but luckily the game is clever about this. Freeze another block with the Ice Emitter and rotate it into a diamond shape once again. This time, however, hold the block near the campfire until it melts to a smaller size. It needs to be about half its starting size for the second altar, and a quarter for the third altar.
If it melts too much, start again with a new block. They don’t have to be completel🐟y perfect as there is some leeway with each.
Keep going until all three altars lower into the ground. A green crystal will then appear in the area above and create Jochisiu Shrine. Head up and unlock it when you’re ready.
There isn’t a further puzzle inside, just a chest with a and the usual Light of Blessing.
