players are having a surprisingly hard time finding Link's shirt on the Great Sky Island, leaving a lot of players running around shirtless.

Just like how started by putting players on The Great Plateau and not letting them leave until they'd completed a few shrines, unlocked a few powers, and got to grips with the game's central mechanics, Tears of the Kingdom begins on the Great Sky Island, a large explorable area that acts as a fairly lengthy tutorial on the game's new and returning mechanics. Just like the Great Plateau, the Great Sky Island is a pretty open area for a tutorial zone, which might actually be a bit too open for some.

, it appears that a significant number of players are having a hard time finding a shirt for Link up on the Great Sky Island. The shirt, called the Archaic Tunic, is part of Link's new starting outfit but, unlike Breath of the Wild's Old Shirt and Well-Worn Trousers, it's not given to you right from the get-go and has to be found with a bit of exploration.

This more-open approach to giving out the game's first tunic has led to the game's subreddit being filled with posts from players asking about where to find it. The confusion appears to be because the shirt isn't given at the same time as the Archaic Legwear and is found on a separate island, causing some players to believe that they've somehow managed to miss it in that first location.

It doesn't help that the distance between the Archiac Legwear and the Archaic Tunic is actually pretty sizeable, which means you could be looking at around an hour between collecting the first piece of clothing and then finally giving Link a shirt. It's certainly enough to make some players feel like they've missed it, which explains why so many players are worried about leaving Link running around shirtless.

The location of the Archaic Tunic in Tears of the Kingdom.

For those of you who are struggling to find Link's first shirt, worry not, as I've marked its location on the map above. You'll find it in a treasure chest in the Pondside Cave, which is discovered just by following the main path on the Great Sky Island. Since you can technically miss and skip whole parts of the island, it does make sense why it's being missed. Just wait until you find out there's a warm pair of Greaves up there too.

Although the Archaic Tunic seems to be the item that most players are having trouble finding, it's not the only one. , as it's not given to the player when they leave the Great Sky Island like it was in Breath of the Wild. In that case, all you need to do is progress in the story once you've jumped down into Hyrule and you'll get it easily.
