Players aren't the only ones wild about horses in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Within the Faron Grasslands, there's yet another equine enthusiast who will make it worth your while if you venture🍸 out to visit him with one of your most unique companions.
However, your unlikely acquaintance is not only a fellow fan of horses, but he has in his possession a stone you'll no doubt want to get your hands o༒n. You'll need to venture far into the countryside to make one of Hyrule's largest friends and share their wonder with a stranger𒀰 who would be most appreciative.
How To Begin The Ride The Giant Horse Shrine Quest
To begin the Ride The Giant Horse Shrine Quest and access the Ishokin Shrine, you'll need to venture into the Faron Grasslands to track down a Hylian named Baddek.
Baddek is standing next to the crystal you need for Ishokin Shrine. You can find him on the hillside of the Faron Grasslands in the center of Zokassa Ridge, Papetto Grove, and Oseira Plains (Coordinates: -0689, -3398, 0172).
When you talk to him, he wants you to show him a "giant horse - bigger than he's ever imagined." While he does specify about a Giant Horse in the Faron Region, you actually have two options here:
- Show him the Giant White Stallion
- Show him the Black (Ganon's) Giant Horse
However, this will also require you to have gotten your mitts on them. Unfortunately, taming either of these giant beasts is not an easy endeavor, and you'll have to ride one of them from the Highland Stable to Baddek.
Once you do tame one of them, talk to Baddek while riding one to receive the green crystal. Interact with the crystal to reveal a green line that will lead you to Ishokin Shrine down the hill for a Rauru's Blessing and a .
Where To Find The Giant White Stallion
Begin at Highland Stable and talk to any of the NPCs within for some clues. They'll lead you to Ibara Butte where Malanya, the Hor♍se God, resided in the ꧙previous game.
Following the road to Ibara Butte, you'll encounter a few individuals on the side of the road. Talk to them to learn about the horse and continue on to the end of the road where you'll find a flowery grove. The Whi♚te Stallion will be grazing in it.
Like any other horse, you'll need to sneak up on it and jump on. However, the Giant Horses are much harder to tame than any other standard steed. You'll need at least two wheels of Stamina to calm him down.
Once he's calm, you'll need to fight with him all the way to Highland Stable. He's stubborn, so you'll need to keep using L to Soothe him all the way back to the stable where you can Register him. Once he's Registered, you can take him back to Baddek.
Take care on the Horse God Bridge on your way back. It is possible fo♑r him to throw himself off the bridge while fighting you, resulting in your stallion falling into the water.
No💜, your stallion won't drown, but trying to get him back to the stable once he's fallen in can cause a huge headache.
Where To Find Ganon's Giant Horse
Ganon's Giant Horse, the black variant of the Giant Stallion, can arguably be the easier to bring to Baddek if you've already tamed him in Breath of the Wild.
If he's been registered in your previous game save, he'll automatically be transferred to your Registered Horses. Simply take him out and ride him to Baddek if this is the case.
If you haven't registered Ganon's Horse before, you'll need to go even farther away from Baddek than if you'd pursued the Giant White Stallion. He will also require three wheels of Stamina, making him more difficult and costly.
Ganon's Horse is located on Hateno Beach on the peninsula between Hateno and Deepback Bay (Coordinates: 4156, -2453, 0004). He's sometimes accompanied by a herd of other horses, making sneaking up on him a tad more difficult ꦅthan the🐬 White Stallion.
Once you reach and tame him, you'll have a very long trek back to Dueling Peaks Stables to Register him. Once Registered, it's recommended to Fast Travel to Highland Stable, take the Giant Horse out of boarding, and ride back to Baddek from there.
