Before launch, Nintendo made a big deal about 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom's sky islands, having pretty much every pre-launch demonstration of the game take place on the initial tutorial island. While most players tend to agree that this island is pretty fantastic and does a great job of showing off all of Tears of the Kingdom's new gizmos, they seem to be less impressed with the rest of the islands floating above Hyrule.
On the official Tears of the Kingdom subreddit, u/milky-cow goes into this feeling in more depth. They explain that while they felt the starting area was great, they couldn't help put feel a little bit disappointed upon discovering that the majority of the sky islands were simply made up a single shrine, a Zonai device dispenser, and the occasional boss fight. They then go on to explain that they wished there were more sky islands like the starting area that could be explored in a bit more depth.
While it's not an opinion that everyone will agree with, u/mily-cow's post has garnered a fair amount of support from fellow players. For example, u/Sparky81 explains that they were "disappointed at first too", but felt a little bit better about it after discovering how massive The Depths are. On the same train of thought, u/Mustardpirate thinks it's rather strange that "the sky islands were marketed so heavily" despite The Depth's being much larger and impressive.
Another user with a similar opinion called u/8bitzombi thinks that Nintendo "really oversold the sky islands" with the trailers, although they're not as disappointed since they still contain the occasional clever puzzle here and there. However, they do also wish that there was "at least 3 more islands" similar to the tutorial area, or even a town to explore. Another user called u/Honest_Neat6430 even suggests that Tarrey Town could have been elevated into the air, seeing as it's on top of an old sky island.
While this is a fairly negative opinion, the majority of those wishing for better sky islands do admit that it's only a minor complaint in what is otherwise a near perfect title. It would have been nice to see more intricate sky islands, but the rest of Hyrule and the new things to do in it more than make up for one lackluster aspect, even if it was fairly hyped up before launch. There's still plenty of things to see and places to explore, and I'm sure the majority of players will sink hundreds of hours into Tears of the Kingdom over the course of the year and beyond.
