Much like Hyrule, Zelda, and Link, the majestic Temple of Time changes in appജearance between iterations throughout the vari𝔉ous games. Despite this, it is always a place of great importance in The Legend of Zelda, serving as a dungeon, a point of interest, a lovely and moody ruin, and so much more.

7 🧸 Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition

Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition - the temple of time is called the Temple of the Sacred Sword, and this screen shows it

While not technically called the Temple of Time, the Temple of the Sacred Sword in Hyrule Warriors is incredibly close in its likeness to the Temple of Time in the Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess. Since this is a spin-off and a Warriors game no-less, this isn't a canon appearance. It is, however, the place where the Master Sword is held in Hyrule Warriors, which seems like a fitting location.

The layout is fairly large but you don't get to explore it in the same way as you would in a typical Zelda game. There's also not a lot to look at, since your main focus isn't on sussing out environmental clues or solving puzzles, but hacking and slashing your way through hundreds and thousands of foes like any good Warriors game requires of you. You can see the facade of the iconic Temple of Time building on the map menu for this level.

6 Hyrule Warriors: Age Of 🃏Calamity

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity - the Temple of Time as seen in the past before being ruined. Zelda stands in front of it

Another 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Warriors game and not canon, it does, however, take place in the Hyrule introduced in Breath of the Wild. The best thing about Age of Calamity is that you get to see Hyrule before it's destroyed by the Calamity, which leaves everything, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:including Hyrule Castle, in a ruined and dilapidated state.

On this map, you see the Temple of Time in its former glory, complete with a grand walkway that is destroyed when you first enter Breath of the Wild. The temple is intact and you spend a lot of time exploring the Great Plateau. You can even go inside the Temple of Time and get a look at the lavish interior. It's wonderful seeing the temple pre-Calamity and almost makes the reveal in BOTW even more exciting.

5 🍷 Tears Of The Kingdom

Somewhat underwhelming, despite being suspended in the sky. There are two Temples of Time in Tears of the Kingdom; there is the original one from 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Breath ෴of the Wild in the Great Plateau, a📖nd the second one is found in the skieꦕs above Hyrule.

While it certainly looks more impressive than its grounded counterpart, the Temple of Time in Tears of the Kingdom doesn't have the same pizzazz or understated and forlorn allure the others manage to exert beautifully. It is an important place for Link, granting him access to the Ascend ability. It is also vitally important since it's where he seemingly sends the Master Sword back in time to Zelda at the start of the game, so she can restore it from the gloom damage it sustained.

4 🌸 Skyward Sword

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - Link stands in the Temple of Time with the ruined Gate of time behind him

Located in the ruined land of Hyrule beneath Skyloft, the Temple of Time in Skyward Sword is one of its best appearances. It is accessed through the Lanayru Mining Facility dungeon. Link visits this temple as he explores the surface to find Zelda, catching but a glimpse of her before Gꦛhirahi✃m quickly – and characteristically – ruins the moment. This is one of the only times i🎀n the Zelda series the Temple of Time has b🍸een in a desert area.

This iteration of the Temple of Time is in the Lanayru Desert and is surrounded by ancient technology from a long-lost age. Link must figure out to progress through the area, manipulating time in the process. At the Temple, Link finds Zelda and Impa outside a b♑eautiful and mysterious Gate of Time. With Ghirahim in hot pursuit, Link buys Zelda and Impa time to flee through the gate, destroying it in the process.

3 🅘 Breath Of The Wild ܫ

Link at the Temple of Time with the Goddess Statue in the background in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Breath of the Wild borrows a lot of references and locations from most Zelda games so far, and the Temple of Time in BOTW is stunning, even hauntingly beautiful. There's no slow-play reveal or anything, it's just a stone's throw from the Shrine of Resurrection. This version of the Temple of Time is effectively a simple cathedral to the Goddess, but there is something about it that draws you in.

It is one of the first main buildings you come across, and it's in ruins. It sets the desolate tone of BOTW perfectly. Anyone who has played Zelda will be ever so slightly disheartened to find that such an iconic and beautiful place in the world of Zelda has been turned to rubble and left in a dilapidated state. The only ray of hope, a literal ray of sunshine, is resting gently on the statue of the Goddess, who has survived the ravages of time and stands proudly at the front of this majestic temple.

2 ﷽ Ocarina Of Time

Link stands before three different coloured artefacts in a temple with the Triforce symbol in LoZ: Ocarina of Time

The Temple of Time in the Ocarina of Time is the first appearance of this iconic building. It is located inside the grounds of Hyrule Castle's Market Town, and it is the place where the Master Sword is found. The Temple of Time in this game is extremely significant to the story, letting Link travel forwards and backwards in time seven years. Not to mention, the fake-out from Ganondorf clues you in that perhaps something not so great is going to happen now you've removed the Master Sword.

From the outside, it looks like a normal cathedral, similar to the one we see in Breath of the Wild. This temple is simple and beautiful, yet devastatingly sombre. In the first room of the temple, there is a platform with t𓆏he Triforce and a stone slab that hold the three Spiritual Stones. With the three stones assembled and the Song of Time played through the Ocarina, 🌠Link can find the Master Sword in the Pedestal of Time.

1 🃏 Twilight Princess

link and midna from the legend of zelda twilight princess

The world of Twilight Princess is moody and forlorn, from start to finish. The stunning and proud Temple of Time, which can be found deep in the Faron Woods, is completely ruined and desolate when you first find it. Link finds the Master Sword in the area that is actually the secret chamber inside the Temple of Time, known as the Sacred Grounds. Twilight Princess fleshes the temple out into a sprawling dungeon, and it's an incredible experience. There is a special door in the ruins of the Tempe of Time that allows Link to time travel to the past.

This door leads into the Temple of Time before it was destroyed, and it looks exceptionally similar to the temple from Ocarina of Time. As you enter the foyer and go through to where you found the Master Sword, you can place it back in the Pedestal of Time to create a staircase that leads you to a dungeon inside the temple. This is by far the best, simply because it is one more hint in a long line of references all but cementing that the world from Ocarina of Time's Child Timeline and Twilight Princess are linked. It gives people what they want; 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:a connection between the games you always want to find and revel in.
