I’ve wished for a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Nintendo Switch port for years now. Me and every other Zelda fan. In a perfect world it would be ported straight from the Wii U HD remaster along with Majora’s Mask, but I’m not too picky. I want to be able to play the best Zelda games wherever I go, on 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Nintendo’s latest (and finest) hardware. At least until the Switch 2 comes along anyway.
It always amazes me that Nintendo hasn’t ported its most beloved games to its best-selling console. Porting the likes of Pokemon Emerald and Majora’s Mask to Switch would be a license to pr♓int money. I bought th🌃e Virtual Console versions of Pokemon Red, Yellow, and Silver, despite owning the original cartridges and devices, just for the sake of convenience.
Both The Wind Waker and Majora’s Mask were ported to Wii U, the former through an HD update and the latter via the Virtual Console. Majora’s Mask was also remade along with Ocarina of Time for the 3DS, but I hope Nintendo forgets about that one because it wasn’t great. This makes them even easier to move over to the Switch, as the hard work has already been done. The groundwork is laid, all that needs to be done are a few tweaks, and you’ve got some of the finest Zelda games on one of the finest consoles. I’m s☂ure it’s a little more difficult than that, but it’s easier than porting straight from Nintendo 64 or GameCube, that’s for sure.
This seems like the perfect year for this release, too. With the reported delays to the Nintendo Switch successor, it seems like 𝔉multiple big games like Pokemon Legends Z-A have been pushed back to launch alongside the new console. This leaves a cavernous void in 2024 that Nintendo needs to fill. Filling it with ports of classic games is a cheap, easy way to make big bucks with very little effort, while also appeasing fans and keeping them glued to yourജ hardware in the latter days of its life cycle.
The best Zelda games are The Wind Waker, Majora’s Mask, Breath of🎉 the Wild, and The Minish Cap. I will be taking no questions at this time.
However, the more time passes without these ports,🍷 the less I want them. Ocarina of Time was ported to Switch, and it wasn’t great. It felt rushed, textures were off, and that majorly impacted the mood of the game. Infamously, fog and water didn’t render correctly, which made important are🥃as come across badly. Even worse though, was the fact that it was only available via emulation through Nintendo Switch Online.
I don’t like Nintendo Switch💃 Online. I don’t like having to pay an annual subscription fꦺee in order to battle Pokemon online. The classic games available as a part of the subscription are a bonus for sure, but they’re not worth paying for alone. Especially when new ones are added on such a sporadic basis.
The biggest thing I hate about NSO is the fact it’s another subscription service. I’d vastlyꦏ prefer to pay more money for proper ports of Pokemon Stadium, Super Mario World, and Ocarina of Time and actually own them,🎶 than pay every year for the privilege of using them occasionally.
If the Majora’s Mask and Wind Waker ports ever materialise, I’d stake my non-existent house on them coming to Nintendo Switch Online rather than as a purchasable game. I just can’t be bothered with that. Aside from the potentially problematic elements of emulation like those that plagued Ocarina of Time to begin with, I want to own my games. I already own them on one console, but it’s a pain to get the GameCube to work o👍n modern TVs, so I’d like to own them on a second, please. Properly.
I’ve got nothing against streaming services. I’m currently using 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Game Pass to play 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Yakuza: Like A Dragon for the first time, and I’m loving it. But it should not be the only way to play a game on modern consoles. This is about game preservation, this is about making classic games accessible to all players, this is about♈ giving the best Zelda games the respect they deserve.
