According to the actress, she has "so much 𒆙fun on the Zooms" with Misha, where they've talked about "big action set pieces and stunt﷽s" for Tomb Raider 2. "I'm hoping that we get on track and get to do something together," she added.
While Vikander doesn't explicitly say the film is in the early stages of development,💎 you can probably draw such a conclusion from what she said. Given that the action scenes for Tomb Raider 2 are still open for discussion, it's safe to assume it will be some time before the sequel actually begi♛ns production. At a guess, we could see the film in 2023— five years after the original.
