Remakes and reboots are an inevitable part of the gaming world these days. That doesn't mean they have to be an uninspired drag or cheap cash grab, however. That's what Tengo Project, the team behind the upcoming The Ninja Saviors - Return of the Warriors, is hoping to prove. These❀ developers are returning to their 25 yea🧸r old title in order to prove that you can teach an old game new tricks.

The Ninja Saviors - Return of the Warriors is a reboot of the Ninja Warriors series. In this case "🔯series" means there were two games and then nothing. The first was a side-scrolling beat 'em-up on arcades, andꦫ the last was a games. The return is happening on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, and actually aims to make use of these modern platforms.

Naturally, the basic elements will stay the same. The Ninja Saviors - Return of the Warriors will still be a 🃏beat 'em-up about ninja robots taking on waves of bad guys in a dystopian future. There are a few characters to choose from who all have individualized move sets and spe🎀cial attacks. The graphics are still rendered in pixels, even if they do take advantage of higher resolutions. It's a truly retro experience, but remastered for modern machines.

Where Return of the Warriors goes further is in its features. It has two player local co-op, something the SNES version lacked. It will also have an online ranking system so you can relive the arcade tradition of comparing yourself to others and feeling worthless as a human being when you see how high their scores are. Finally, the game is adding two whole new characters, taking Ninja Warrior's roster and move sets to new heights.

The Ninja Saviors - Return of the Warriors is already available in Europe and will release in the Ameri🅺cas on October 15. It will go up on the Nintend❀o eShop and PSN, but also have a limited physical release. The limited physical version will have some collectible goodies, including an honest-to goodness game manual.
