The Outer Worlds turned out to be a huge success for Obsidian. It was the best selling video game of last October, according to and it was critically acclaimed with an 86 𒁏𒐪on , plus or minus a few points depending on the platform.
The game still has a lot going for it including a release for Switch and future story . We want to look beyond all of that though and cast our gazes at a sequel. There are a lot of avenues Obsidian could take but there are some things we have to see. The Outer Worlds, though a good game, had many small issues that a sequel𝓀 could fix. There are also some story threads🐭 we want to see explored further.
10 No Exclusivity 🧸
Before we get into the specifics of gameplay, let's do some wishful thinking. Microsoft bought Obsidian in an initiative to gain more first-party support. All signs point to The Outer Worlds sequel being exclusive to and maybe PC. This is a big win for Microsoft because The Outer Worlds is likely to initiate a new franchise. It's also disappointing for fans who enjoyed the game on a PlayStation console. There is a small glimmer of hope because Microsoft has been more lenient with sharing their games. At the same time, it's difficult to see Microsoft giving up exclusivity to a big game like The Outer Worlds.
9 Improved Shootin🌃g
The Outer World shines when it comes to story and dialogue but not so much in the shooting portions of the game. It is more desirable to avoid combat in The Outer Worlds simply because it becomes a bore to play. Obsidian could do so much in terms of creating unique creatures to fight. But it's not enough to add more enemies, they have to be fun to fight. Going deeper into the weak point approach would be nice too like a game. Of course not every🅺 enemy will need to be so involvedღ just enough to add some diversity to combat.
7 💞 Upgraded Stealth
Stealth is another aspect of The Outer Worlds that did not get a lot of attention. The reasoning for improving combat and stealth is to create a more balanced player choice. The best character set in The Outer Worlds is the one focused on dialogue. That's because talking your way through the game i𝐆s objectively the best way to play. The dialogue is so well done and everything else is mediocre.
For players to have true fr🌼eedom in how they approach the game (a stealth character vs a dialogue character) all avenues of play should be on the same level. Right now stealth is an option but is hardly playable. Add✤ a silent takedown ability. Add the ability to attract enemies to your position. Add long-range stealth weapons. Add more hiding places. Just these small upgrades would go a long way.
6 ꧃ Impr🌳oved Customization
This follows up the last entry nicely. Players will have a better ability to customize their character if all the playstyles were on par. Customization goes bey🐼ond playstyle though. The character creation tool should be vastly improved and the ability to play in the third person would allow players to bask in their lovely creation.
The perk system should also be oriented to certain playstyles, much like Skyrim. Right now the perks are a little boring. The quirkiness of The Outer Worlds leads to more creative perks. Inspiration for this should come from Fallout. Crazy ideas like the mysterious stranger perk would fit right into The Outer Worlds.
5 More Com𒀰panions
The companions are arguably the best part of The Outer Worlds. They are all deep 💫characters who change throughout the course of the game, besides stupid Felix. The companion quest lines are s💝ome of the best in the game. The way the companions improve certain skills is a helpful addition and their comments during gameplay make the world feel more realistic.
Obsidian should capitalize on this for the sequel. It should have more companions to find and recruit throughout the world. The party number should be increased as well so you can take three companions along with you instead of two. This will create more opportunities for unique dialogue options and combat strategies. Lastly, the way 's companions all came togethe🔯r for the final mission was a great gaming moment. It would be fun to assign companions specific tasks during a questline. The successfulness being based on picking the right people for the job.
4 Cinematic Dialogue 🌃 ♎
For how great the dialogue is, it's presentation is somewhat outdated. The presentation of dialogue in The Outer Worlds does not do the writing justice. Even Fallout 4 added a more cinematic approach to dialogue where the camera moves from face to face as characters talk. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a great example of making RPG dialogue look interesting. The static camera that stays on an NPC's face is awkward, especial🥃ly when no one is saying anything. Make it look more like a movie and less like a video game.

The Outer Worlds does a good job of not overwhelming the plﷺayers. This was done by creating numerous planets each with its own small map. Don't change this for the sequel but upgrade the within these maps. Each map should be more densely populated with locations to explore and secrets to find.
Right now, the planets have one city, which serves as a hub, and a mostly empty wilderness to explore. Put more stuff in the wilderness to find. Make quests available through exploration instead of NPCs awkwardly standing around 🔥waiting on you to talk to them. Just give the player more incentive for looking around the environment. An intriguing quest is much more fun to find then your 20th mag-l⛄ock.
2 Earth
One of the most intriguing story elements of The Outer Worlds is the mystery of Earth. For the inha🧸bitants of Halcyon, Earth is mostly forgotten. It's not a subject of discussion for them and its not important to their daily lives.
Towards the end of the game, we find out that Earth has gone dark. The question remains: What happened to Earth? It would be exciting to have Earth be an explorable planet. We could see how different it is to the Earth we know. A🔜t the very least have some communication with someone on Earth so we can learn what's going on.
1 🍎 ♏ A New Set of Characters and Locations
The events of The Outer Worlds should have minimum impact on the new game. There can be side dialogue about Halycon's savior (or destroyer depending on how you play) and some cameos from companions. Other then that, the sequel should be something new. It could even take players to an entirely different universe with different problems to solve. Let the aftermath of the original play out through the DLC and let the sequel explore new ideas. This will keep the franchise fresh with new characters and new planets to explore. This way the sequel can explore different themes and expand The Outer Worlds to new heights.
