168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Disney Channel has released a short, sweet, and achingly tragic tease for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Owl House’s final extended special. I am not ready to say goodbye to Luz Noceda and the Boiling Isles in a couple of week’s time, nor have I begun to process the impact this show has had on both myself and the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:landscape of queer animation. Watching and Dreaming is set to air on April 8 and clocks in at almost an hꦇour, which is time it will🎃 spend wrapping up all The Owl House’s remaining narrative threads.
The Owl House fans are built different, so obviously the fandom immediately started poring over every frame of the brief clip to figure out what the special is about, who it will focus on, and whether it will have enough room to do Dana Terrace’s world justice. I believe it will, and there’s enough dreamlike imagery amidst this bleak new trailer teasing a bittersweet conclusion I can’t wait to see unfold. But I also have so many questions, so let’s get into it.
Is Luz in a dream, or a nightmare?
The opening frame is a polaroid of Luz, King, and Eda standing in front of The Owl House. In this world, we know that objects can be pilfered from the minds of individuals in order to relive their memories or even rewrite them under the right circu❀mstances. Given that we also glimpse Luz walking through a r🐼egal corridor similar to Belos’ own consciousness in Hollow Mind, she is likely in a dream world, and the fact she is even dressed in Belos’ own garb ties into fan theories about the guilt she feels surrounding how she views herself as a witch and if she will give into her worst impulses. See, I told you I had a lot of questions.
King and Eda are seemingly in this dreamlike landscape with Luz too, with The Collector looming over them in trapped bubbles as he toys with our heroes in a labyrinth of his own design. We could see them separated, or picked off one by one as they try in vain to find a way out. Luz could end up alone, with nobody to save her except herself. It would explain why Eda and King can be seen transformed and tearful in a later frame, perhaps grieving over the fact that their surrogate family member mighܫt be lost forever.
Who is the real villain here?
I’ve always viewed 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Collector as misunderstood. The young boy is armed with immense power and the ability to craft entire universes of his own, but has spent eternity trapped and tricked by those eager to take advantage of his power. Now along comes Luz and company to take it all away. He is acting on impulse, doing what he believes is right to protect a life he doesn’t want to give up. Deep down he is lonely and immature, and doesn’t want outsiders to ꦏchange what he considers a perfect reality.
Emperor Belos also features in this 🍰trailer more than I expected, and can be seen taking control of Raine Whispers while his narration peppers throughout the early portions. Fans have been waiting a long time to see Belos and Hunter face off against one another and delve into the sad history behind Caleb and the Grimwalkers, and chances are the fascist slime monster will desperately cling onto a chance at victory which is slowly fading away.
Has everyone been possessed?
Those who fall under The Collector’s influence are depicted as morbid wooden puppets the star child can summon and control at will. Lilith Clawthorne is now one such victim, meaning that the only sanctuary our heroes have in this burning world has been turned to ashes. Luz’s friends also appear in her potential dream hanging on strings before being pulled back into the sky. However, their appearances aren’t puppetised (is that a word? - another qu🎉estion I have) and their outfits point to specific parts in their individual histories.
Gus is wearing his Grom outfit, Willow her school uniform, Amity her post hair-dye look, and Hunter his Golden Guard armo🧔ur. With Luz also dressed up to resemble Belos, some fans believe we could be in a nightmarescape in which cꦇharacters are forced to relive past trauma or the worst possibilities yet come to pass. To see them all pulled out of frame as a stone monument to the deceased Flapjack remains in the background is an awfully dark touch.
Do we have enough time for a happy ending?
The Owl House i🌱s clearly keeping things vague with this trailer, focusing entirely on a dream sequence that will assist in wrapping up multiple character arcs as it simultaneously gives Emperor Belos and The Collector a playground to strut their vil🌱lainous stuff. Brief shots of King and Eda transformed with tears streaming down their cheeks, Eda bursting from familiar landmarks, and Amity placing a light glyph in Luz’s palm before she’s aggressively pulled away all point towards a moment that will break our hearts, but leave time to piece them back together as a brighter conclusion glimmers in the distance.
We aren’t allowed to see the gay witches achieve true happiness until we’ve exposed ourselves to a not🍃 so healthy dose of emotional trauma. While this special will undoubtedly be filled with twists and turns, it’s also the last we will see of these ch꧒aracters in animated form, and will require more than a few moments of levity for us to say farewell and treasure all the memories we’ve made with them.
We’re going to get a Lumity smooch, an expanded Willow and Hunter confession, and perhaps even a wedding for Eda and Raine. Okay, that last one is a long shot, but a girl can dream. All of us are watching this trailer with terrified assumptions about what it wilꦗl put everyone through, but I promise you there is a light at the end of the tunnel here. Saying that, don’t come after me if everyone dies.
