From your knowledge of the plot in your first playthrough, you’ll notice overlooked moments that actually foreshadow the plot. Some foreshadowing is on the nose while other moments are more subtle. Here are ♈times the plot was foreshadowed and indirectly predicted in the game.
This article contains major plot spoilers for The Quarry. Com🎀pleting yo♊ur first playthrough of The Quarry before reading this article is recommended.
10 What Doesn’t Kill Y🍰ou Will Make You Stronger
You hear and read this quote time and time again and may assume it’s just a generic saying with no deeper meaning. You can read the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:saying on the map in the prologue as Laura, and in Chapter One as Jacob. It might seem insignificant at first, but when you disco꧙ver the curse afflicting the Hackett family, it actually mak♐es sense. You’ll later discover that if a werewolf attacks you and doesn’t kill you, it will literally make you physically stronger when you become a werewolf yourself.
9 Hunting Season 🌃
You’re warned that hunting season ends the ജnight before camp starts and begins again the night after camp commences. It’s mentioned by Travis in the prologue, and you’ll notice signs of it in Chapter One.
While playing Jacob, you can fin🌳d a clue regarding the deer popula💃tion and hunting season. The poster tells you that the season is canceled due to a high deer mortality rate. When the chapter ends, you’ll also see Jedediah and Bobby Hackett setting up their hunting season sign, which foreshadows the events to come.
8 Exploring The Lodge ༒
While exploring the lodge in Chapter One as ꧟☂Jacob, you’ll notice that certain areas of interest will play more significant roles later in the game. Jacob can focus on the chimney, which werewolf Caleb will later burst out of.
If you walk into the kitchen, you can take a peek into the walk-in freezer which will prompt Jacob to say “That’s a bad place to get stuck.” While fighting werewolf Caleb, you can lure him into the freezer, and if you’re not quick enough, he’ll pul🎐l Kaitlyn in with him.
7 🔴 I Hate Horror ﷽
This moment is a little more on the nose because as the player, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:you know yoꦇu🥂’re playing a horror game. If Jacob finds the horror book, he’lꦆl say “I hate horror.”
It’s really just one of those silly ironic moments that tell you how unprepared the counselors are for the night to come, and specifically how Jacob will react to it. It’s especially ironic when you 𓃲consider that Jacob is the whole reason that the counselors are spending another night.
6 ꧋ One More Night In The Great Outdoors
As the counselors pack up the van and prepare to leave, Jacob makes a comment about the condition of the van. Kaitlyn ▨replies saying “One more night in the great outdoors might actually kill me.” While playing through the story you’ll know that any of the characters can die, including Kaitlyn.
It’s one of those “little do you know” moments where you can predict that this line can later be realized if you don’t manage to protect her. But luckily, she&rꦍsquo;s a badass, and you won’t have to worry about that too much.
5 🌠 The Most Dangerous Game
After seeing the hunting season sign and the blood-covered hunters, you might expect the plot to mirror The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell. For those who have🃏n’t read the short story, the premise of the plot is that a hunter is hunting humans instead of nonhuman animals.
Dy♎lan makes a reference to the story while snooping in Chris Hackett’s office, which may lead you to believe the story is going in that direction. Even though this is sort of true considering that the werewolves are human, the Hacketts aren’t hunting the counselors, at least not yet.
4 We Might 💫Never See Each Other Again
As the counselors prepare for their party, Kaitlyn makes another comment that can end up becoming true, but not in the way she meant it. While speaking to Ryan and Dylan, s👍he states “I just realized, we might never see each other again after tonight.”
She obviously means that they l🍌ikely won’t return to summer camp at Hackett’s Quarry after they go their separate ways. But, just like her earlier quote, she could actually be right, if you don’t manage to save all the counselors.
3 Ni🌱ck Has The Beast In Him
It’s unfortunate that your time with Nick is so short-lived. While he’s being attacked and bitten by Silas, the perspective swiಌtches to Ryan, Kaitlyn, and Dylan who remain 🅷on the beach. They discuss that Nick probably won’t make a move on Abigail, which Ryan refutes by claiming that Nick “has the beast in him.”
Here, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Rya♊n’s referring to Nick being bolder than the others perceive him to be, but Ryan’s statement proves to be more literal since, at this point in the stor𓂃y, Nick l🌞iterally has a beast inside him waiting to emerge.
2 The Tre🌺ehouse
While playing Kaitlyn, you’re prompted to take a photo of the view. While you’re trying to get🃏 the best angle, Kaitlyn will see a light i🌺n the treehouse. She tells Ryan and Dylan what she saw, but it’s quickly brushed off.
When Emma swims to the island and makes her way to the treehouse, she hears aꦯ commotion in the attic. With the insight you received earlier, you can expect that the treehouse is a dangerous place. Plus, 🐼Emma can jokingly predict her own potential death right before opening the door.
1 The Scrꦍapyard 💟
Earlier in the game, Chris informs Ryan that Caleb works at the scrapyar♉d during the off-season. Later Dylan and Kaitlyn, if you’ve managed to keep Dylan alive, will walk to the scrapyard in hopes of finding something that will get the van up and running again.
No one knows where Caleb is at this point, so it’s not surprising that he would be at his place of work. Although it's hard to tell which werewolf is which, the werewolf in the scrapyard seems to be Caleb.
