The Greek God Legacy Challenge is one of the most unique challenges for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Sims 4. Invented by Sims Forum member CheetahAlyssa, the challenge requires you to play through ten Sim generation💞s, with each generation representing a different Greek god or goddess. You can find on the Sims Forums.
Like most legacy challenges, each generation asks you to change up your playstyle, choosing different goals and traits for your Sim. Unlike a lot of legacy challenges, not every Sim you play will have a happily-ever-after. If you like messy Sims, unhappy relationships, adoption, or storytelling, the G𒀰reek God challenge might be right up your alley.
Greek God Legacy Challenge Overview
The Greek God Legacy Challenge requires you to play a Sim household for ten generations, and follow a different set of self-imposed rules every generation. Each one of them represents one Greek god; you give your Sims traits and aspirations that represent that god. By the end of the challenge, you will have earnt the Legacy Player achievement, and you'll experience a lot of what the game has to offer.
This challenge isn't base-game compatible. To get the full experience, you'll need Cats and Dogs, Get to Work, Island Living, Seasons, Get Together, and City Living. CheetahAlyssa says that if you don't have one of the packs, "just do [the generation] to the best of your ability!", and offers some suggestions for replacement generation rules in her forum thread.
If you can only pick up a couple packs, Seasons, Island Living, and Get To Work are the most important for the Greek God Legacy challenge. The other packs add a little bit of spice or a few new generation rules, but aren't as crucial.
Generation One: Artemis
In this generation, you play a Sim inspired by Artemis, the virgin goddess of the hunt. You're not allowed to get a job, get married, or woohoo; you'll spend most of your time fishing, training your dog to hunt, and collecting items.
To get the most out of this challenge, you're going to want to collect as much bait as you can, keeping a couple stacks of it handy in your inventory at all times. Bait can be anything from frogs to plants to other fish; your notebook will automatically update every time you try new bait, so keep an eye on it if you're looking for fish you've already caught before.
If you're struggling to catch a certain fish, try talking to other Sims. As you raise your fishing skill, you'll unlock conversation topics like "Talk About Local Fishing Spots"; they'll give you advice on where to hunt down that last elusive critter.
Generation Two: Apollo
In this generation, you'll play a Sim inspired by Apollo, the god of music, light, knowledge, and medicine. You're trying to make and keep as many friends as possible, rise through the medical career, and master the guitar or piano.
The medical career is one of the more challenging careers in the game; you don't get a lot of free time, and some of the goals you have to meet depend on getting the right randomly generated patient. You should wait to max your musical skill until you've reached the top of your career (or retired) — you're not going to have enough time to keep on top of that and your aspiration.
However, you should work on your Handiness skill if you can — you 𓄧can upgrade medical equipment to keep it from breaking, which will save you a lot of headaches later.
Go to work Focused, and try to play through every day, rather than just sending Apollo off to work — you'll be more likely to get promoted that way.
Generation Three: Poseidon
This is a fun one. In this generation, you play a Sim inspired by Poseidon, the hot-headed god of the ocean. You must become a mermaid, keep Sulani clean, and date at least three Sims before settling down.
After playing Apollo's hectic medical career, the Beach Life aspiration is a nice change of pace. It's slow and laid-back, and your sim will get bonuses for staying in their neighbourhood. Get a suntan, go beachcombing, and explore beach caves!
To become a mermaid, buy Mermaidic Kelp from your Lifetime Rewards inventory; it'll definitely help you discover the buried treasure you need to finish your aspiration.
Since Beach Life is such an easy aspiration to finish, you'll be able to do more with Poseidon. Since he's the god of horses, maybe try out the Horse Ranch DLC, or try your hand at the Archaeology Scholar Aspiration.
Generation Four: Demeter
In this generation, you play a Sim inspired by Demeter, the peaceful goddess of the harvest. With your Freelance Botanist aspiration, you're going to spend a lot of time gardening. You'll weed, water, fertilize, and evolve plants until you reach the highest level of the Gardening skill.
When you're learning how to garden, don't hit the books — reading is the slowest way to raise your skills, and you're much better off learning through doing. It can be challenging to grow crops in the winter, but if you have Seasons, you can build a greenhouse, and if you've got Cottage Living, oversized crops will grow all year round.
If you've got Tiny Living, try moving to a micro home this generation; you'll get a bonus to how quickly your plants grow, and you'll have more room on the lot for your garden beds and bee boxes.
Generation Five: Aphrodite
In this generation, you'll play as Aphrodite, the goddess of love, pleasure, and passion. Your main goal is to complete the Serial Romantic aspiration, having at least eight boyfriends or girlfriends before finally settling down. You must have at least five children and hook up at least three other couples.
You'll want to go to the San Myshuno Romance Festival every chance you get — the tea there gives you a strong Flirty moodlet, so it'll be easier to find romantic prospects. If you have Get Famous, you'll also want to play matchmaker early and often.🎐 Hooking up other sims gives ♊you a Good Reputation, and when you have a high enough Reputation, other sims will start asking you to go on blind dates.
Finally, start both your Flower Arranging and serial dating as a Teen. With five children and eight partners, you're not going to have much time for it later.
If you have Eco Lifestyle, you may want to try getting the Free Love Neighbourhood Action Plan — it'll make finding dates easier, because you don't have to worry about whether Sims are married
Generation Six: Zeus
In this generation, you play as Zeus, the god of the sky, thunder, law, order, and kingship. Your main goal, in this generation, is to start the biggest and best club in SimNation; you've also got to become an astronaut, use the Weather Machine as often as possible, have "affairs with other women", and be the world's most jealous spouse.
You're going to want to skill Charisma for this challenge, both for your clubs and for your affairs; you're also going to want to skill Fitness, Logic, and eventually Rocket Science. Take the Space Ranger branch of this career rather than the Smuggler branch. Zeus is the god of law and order and because the hours and pay are better. To help speed things along, you can choose activities for your club that help you build these skills — Work Out, Rocketꦐ Science!, Play Physical Games, or Swim.
This generation will be a challenge because you really have to be the Sim who has it all, but the Astronaut career is some of the most👍 fun you can have in Sims 4.
Generation Seven: Hades
In this generation, you play as Hades, the god of the dead, the underworld, and treasure. You've got to master the Criminal career, befriend three ghosts, become a Public Enemy, and trap someone in a loveless marriage! We'll spare you the rant on how Hades isn't actually evil in the original myths, because for this generation, you've got to channel your inner Disney villain.
After the chaos of the last generation, this one's refreshingly straightforward. The Public Enemy aspiration is designed around the Criminal career, so you've just got to be as mean to as many Sims as possible, befriend as many ghosts as you can, and go to work every day. We'd recommend the Boss branch of the Criminal career, both because you earn more money and because the rewards you get fit Hades' treasure theme a little better.
Finally, you have to witness the death of a Sim — you can either wait for a Sim to die of old age, or arrange an unfortunate "accident". Pool ladders go missing all the time, don't they?
If you earn enough Rewards points in your youth, you can buy the Connections reward trait that lets you start your career at level four, speeding up the grind of th🐽e Criminal career a little.
Generation Eight: Hermes
In this generation, you play as Hermes, the god of commerce, the written word, and thieves. This is another generation where you're all over the place — you've got to complete the Athlete career and the Chief of Mischief aspiration, which have nothing to do with each other.
To beat this generation, your Sim has to master Charisma, Fitness, Mischief, and Writing. You're going to spend a lot of time on the computer; Trolling Teh Forums is one of the best ways to raise your Mischief skill, you can use the computer to write (and you're going to want to write a lot), and if you choose the Pro Athlete branch of the career track, you can Study Opponents to get an Energized moodlet. We'd recommend you pick the Pro Athlete branch; it's easier to make money, and you don't need to spend quite as much time at the gym.
You're also going to need to work out, play pranks on other Sims, clog toilets, get a voodoo doll, go to the Flea Market festival every time it pops up — oh, yeah, and raise a child. Good thing Hermes is known as the "fleet-footed". He'll need all his speed to get everything done.
This challenge was written before High School Years came out, but it could be fun to incorporate the Thrift Store and Trendi into Hermes' generation. A god's gotta have his fancy winged sandals, right?
Generation Nine: Hephaestus
In this generation, you're playing as Hephaestus, the god of fire, metalworking, skilled craftsmanship, and sculpture. Fittingly, you're going to focus on handicrafts. Use the woodworking table to craft sculptures and furniture, and then sell them in your own retail store.
You're also going to pursue the Nerd Brain aspiration, which synergizes nicely with the woodworking-retail store side of this generation. We'd recommend getting the marriage-and-child part of this aspiration over with as soon as possible — especially because you have to have an unhappy marriage — and throwin♛g your🅺self into your work. (And maybe channel some of that anger or sadness into Emotional sculptures!)
Raise your Logic, upgrade as many items around your house as you can, and get ready to build a Rocket Ship. Get Focused to improve the quality of your handicrafts and ꦕto make repairs easier.
If you're repairing things in a bathroom, don't stand in puddles. Your sim can get electrocuted and die. Great for Hades' generation; not so great for Hephaestus.
Generation Ten: Athena
We've reached the final generation. You're playing as Athena, the goddess of wisdom, courage, justice, strategic warfare, mathematics, ꧑arts, crafts💦, and skill.
To represent a goddess with so much in her purview, you're pursuing three different careers and the Renaissance Sim aspiration. The Renaissance Sim aspiration requires you to job-hop, and the challenge helpfully picks three careers for you. You've got to reach level three in the Painter career, level three in the Politics career, and level ten in the Detective career. You've also got to get at least six skills to level eight.
To make this all easier, we'd recommend starting with the skills — the challenge requires you reach level ten in Painting and Logic, and we'd recommend also focusing on Charisma and Gardening for your careers. As a pampered legacy heir, your family fortune should be enough to support you while you paint and play chess. Then, simply take the Connections perk,🤪𝓀 start your new career at level four, leave immediately, and hop to the next one.
The challenge requires Athena to never marry or woohoo, but you can adopt a child to keep the family going.
After The Challenge
You've been playing the same Sim family for ten generations; you're either very sick of them or so attached that you want to play forever. If you're in the second camp, commentors on the original thread have suggested some further generation challenges — play as Dionysus and focus on mixology, or play as Hera and focus on raising successful children.
If you're interested in making challenges of your own, there are so many Greek gods, heroes, and monsters to use as inspiration. Maybe you could play as Ares and solve the Strangerville mystery while rising through the Military career. Maybe play as Hekate and master witchcraft, or play as Zagreus and escape a hos﷽tile home. The possibilities are endles😼s.
