The Sims 4 Jungle Adventure allows you to send your Sim to explore the beautiful destination world of Selvadorada. Here you'll be able to find out about the local culture, visit the bar and museum, and if you're brave enough, explore the jungle and its hidden temples.
There are plenty of puzzles to solve, secrets to uncover, and artifacts to find deep in the Selvadorada jungle. However, there are also many dangers, and your Sim's trip can be fatal. Preparation is key, and this guide will help you stay safe and find those ancient artifacts.
How To Get To Selvadorada
Selvadorada is a destination world from before worlds had both residential and rental properties so, unfortunately, you cannot live there. Instead, you'll need to take some time off from work, assuming your Sim has a regular job, and schedule a vacation.
When Sims are on vacation at a rental lot they will automatically use any paid time off they have accrued in their career.
To schedule your vacation open your phone and select the green Travel icon. You'll then see a menu of options, depending on the packs you have installed.
Selvadorada is listed under Destination Worlds and has the most vibrant skyline. Once you've chosen it you'll be given the map of the world, so you can choose a rental property.
There are four rental properties to choose from:
Property |
Size |
Traits and Challenges |
Price |
Hillview Hideaway |
|
|
$216 per day |
Jungle Bungalow |
|
|
$519 per day |
Selvadorada Villa |
|
|
$602 per day |
Belomisia Field Station |
|
|
$679 per day |
Unless you are taking a large group of Sims and doing some other exploration of the area, or maybe crafting a story involving a large expedition then the Hillview Hideaway will be fine.
If you plan on exploring the jungle you won't be in the rental property most of the time, so save your Simoleons for supplies.
What Do You Need To Buy Before Your Adventure?
If you head over to the Cantina "El Árbol Del Jaguar" Bar you'll find some market stalls outside in the square. Here you can purchase a range of items that will help you navigate the jungle. They are:

Stock will frequently rotate, so you may need to leave the area (via the map) and come back if you can't find the items you need.
If you have a high skill in Selvadoradian Culture you can access a secret menu and purchase extra items by talking to a vendor and selecting the Buy Supplies and Secret Wares option.
Once you are in the jungle some items will be consumed automatically while others you can choose to use in specific situations. The flower and machete can be reused, but each time they are, there is a chance you can lose them, so multiple purchases are recommended for a long excursion.
How To Start A Temple Excursion
In order to get to the Temple you'll first need to head to the entrance of the surrounding jungle complex. To get there simply go to the map and select Belomisia Trailhead National Park.
Here you'll find a BBQ, bench, and some public toilets that can help you get your basic needs up before you start your adventure.
The temple complex entrance is easy to spot, being marked with a huge vine-covered gate and a large warning sign.
Gates like this will also be spread throughout the area, and each one will require the vines to be chopped down the first time you enter. Make sure you have a machete to help conserve your energy. Also, remember that you can lose it in the bushes, so a spare is a good idea.
If you return to the temple grounds on a different day, any entrances you cleared during your current vacation will remain clear.
Pop Up Dilemmas And Their Consequences
Every time you go through an archway you will see a pop-up appear with three different options to choose from. Usually, the first one will involve doing nothing, the next will require specific skills to increase the odds of success and the final one will require you to consume an item.
The first option results in a debuff, the second will offer a reward or have a consequence, depending on your luck with the RNG, and the final one offers a reward but at the expense of consuming an item.
Below is each encounter along with the consequences of doing nothing, the skills required to improve success, the result if you fail, and the item required if you wish to trade for the reward.

Which dilemmas you will get is entirely random, but usually they don't repeat in each journey through the grounds.
Where To Find The Temple
The main temple grounds are the same each time you enter, although different temple entrances will be blocked off on each excursion.
After you go through the first archway you'll find another archway as well as a bridge. The cent⛄re of the map cꦡontains a grass circle with trees inside.
The First Temple Grounds Area
You appear on the map at the entrance marked with an exclamation mark. If you make your way around the path to your left you can machete the vines on the archway marked with a star and end up in a new area, usually containing a treasure chest.
The arrow points toward a bridge which you'll need to come back to.
Over The Bridge
This part of the map looks a lot more in-depth than it is. You'll be able to direct your Sim over the bridge without hitting a loading screen and will end ༒up at the point marked wi💫th an exclamation mark.
From here you can stop to dig up artifacts at the place marked with an arrow, before continuing to the only exit, marked with a star.
Final Temple Area
Once more the exclamation mark shows the entrance you appear in but in this final area, you'll notice four different gateways. There is also a dig site marked here with an arrow as well as a Tree of Emotions, marked with a star.
The entrance on your immediate left, marked with the number one, will usually lead you to the Omniscan baths. Here you can take a swim and become energised.
Entrance two will lead to a clearing with a waterfall inside and a treasure chest as well as a fishing spot.
Entrance three leads to the temple.
Entrance four leads to another clearing with a treasure chest.
Each time you enter the temple grounds different gateways may be locked. They can also become locked after you have explored a temple✃, restricting how many times you can explore on each vacation.
After each completed temple exploration you will need to 🌠wait at least one full Sim day for the temple to reset. When you leave Selvadorada the entire temple grounds will reset.
Solving The Temple Puzzles
The final gateways will lead you to the temple. The exterior grounds will always look the same but the interior changes each time you enter.
The way forward will always be obvious, but you will encounter different puzzles you'll need to solve in order to move forward.
Each puzzle will require you to select one of four options. In certain areas there are several puzzles and only one will unlock the gate.
You should always select the examine option to rule out as many wrong options as possible. |
If you are wrong you can gain a range of negative moodlets, and severely deplete your needs including bladder, hygiene, and hunger. However, the real danger is if you trigger a poison dart trap. This will immediately make your Sim break out in bright green circular rash. If left untreated the poison will have fatal results.
Incorrect puzzle choices can also trigger a fire, which can kill you if you can't extinguish it.You can also die if you try to get past the poison, fire, or electricity that covers the gates.
Occasionally, you can also be turned into a skeleton.
While in this state you can do anything a regular Sim can do, except eat food. You'll find that you slowly begin to starve. The buff appears to last for a slightly randomised length of time.
You won't usually starve, but it is worth making sure your hunger doesn't get too low when you are a Sim, just in case. You will also need to have food on hand for when you turn back
Here's how to tackle each puzzle to ensure the best chance of success.
Bowl Offering Puzzles
To stand the best chance of identifying the correct bowl you'll need to level your Archaeology Skill. It's also worth noting that your Sim will automatically make an offering when you choose the bowl you want, you don't need a specific item to do so.
Pillar Puzzles
These pillars with a hole in the front can be more successfully deciphered by those with a high Fitness Skill. Once instructed, your Sim will put their hand in the suggested side of the pillar.
Pressure Plate Puzzles
These are the most complex puzzles. While a high Selvadoradian Culture Skill can help you find the right option you'll need to change your Sims dominant emotion to activate it.
There are four different emotions and the fastest way to change your Sim's mood is to eat the berries from the Tree of Emotions, several of which can be found in the temple grounds. However, if you run out of berries there are areas you can go to influence a Sim's mood.
Confident - Eat the Gutsberry or journey to the hidden area with a crashed plane near the entranಌce to the grounds to become confident.
Energized - Eat a Vimberry or head over to the Omniscan Baths to swim in the waters and become energized.
Flirty - Eat a Flutterberry or head over the bridge to gain a Flirty moodlet.
Inspired - Eat a Museberry or walk to the Cliff edge to get inspired by the beautiful scenery.
Once your mood is correct you'll be able to step onto the plate.
Skeleton Puzzles
The Skeleton puzzle requires your Sim to pull the weapons of the Skeletons in order to activate the correct mechanism. A high Handiness Skill will help you here.
Three-Piece Pillar Puzzles
Here a high Logic Skill can help you better work out which combination will line up when you pull the lever.
Totem Puzzles
The totem puzzles require you to talk to the totems, meaning that a high Charisma Skill will come in handy here. There are two positive actions and two negative ones, but any of them can be correct.
Temple Rewards
Rewards in the temple will vary, and they include Simoleonꩵs, as well as a range of artifacts. The items you can gain🍬 are:
- Statues
- Vases
- Ceremonial Knives
- Crystals
- Display Plates
- Other Decorative Items
You'll need to either authenticate the items using an archaeology table or pay to get them authenticated. You can find both authentic and fake items in the jungle, with the former being much more valuaಌble.
How To Cure Poison
If your Sim is hit by a poison dart the effects will be immediate. After a brief look of panic they will break out in a bright green circular patterned rash.
You have 72 hours to get hold of an antidote so that your Sim doesn't die. There are two ways to do th༒is, purchase one or ask a loc🍌al for one.
Where To Purchase The Antidote
If you have $1000 Simoleons to blow then head over to the Alam Museum of Archaeology in Selvadorada and use the computer. On the first page of options you'll be able to purchase an Antidote.
You appear to have to be in Selvadorada to ask for or purchase the antidote so don't return home until you are cured.
How To Get An Antidote From A Local
While exploring the temple you should find Ancient Bone Dust in the Treasure Chests and dig piles. To gain an antidote from a local simply chat to them until they offer you the option to Ask for Antidote.
You will now give them one Ancient Bone Dust and receive the antidote in exchange.
You can find the antidote in your inventory, and it appears as a green liquid in a small glass. Simply click on it and select Chug Antidote. Your Sim will drink it and immediately return to full health.
Onꦓce at full health you can return home and appraise your finds.
