The Sims 4 team finally unveiled the theme and title of the upcoming Game Pack with an attention-grabbing trailer at Gamescom Opening Night Live. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Star Wars fans rejoiced as the rumors proved to be true and The Sims 4: Return To Batuu was unveiled. However, the crossover between these two epic franchises has also drawn huge amounts of anger on a scale rarely seen. This is further reflected in 🌞the pack's trailer having around doꦛuble the amount of dislikes as it has likes on YouTube.
Despite the negativity, I firmly believe that while this may not be the crossover you were lookin𒊎g for, it's the one The Sims 4 really needs.
The Sims X Star Wars
EA owns the licensing rights to a number of large and successful properties and crossovers are not a new idea; in fact, there are already some in The Sims 4. The base game includes a small range of Star Wars-themed outfits as well as a statue of The Child from The Mandalorian aka Baby Yoda. More recently the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Nifty Knitting Stuff pack also introduced 💮a crossover with another EA franchise in the form of༺ Yarny from Unravelled, who appears as a knitted figure and a unique statue.
Partnerships are also not new to The Sims franchise, although historically they've primarily been with homeware or fashion companies including Ikea, Diesel, and most recently Moschino. Due to these precedents, while crossing over The Sims 4 with another franchise is the "major first" we were promised, 🧔it's not an idea completely out of left🐲 field.
The Dark Side
Reactions in the community from vocal Simmers taking to social media have been very strong, to say the least. Those who ar♕e excited have ไfound themselves shouted down and SimGuru's comments have started threads full of negativity.
While complaining about pack themes is common, and something to be expected since there's no way any theme will appeal to all 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:30 million players, the level of toxicity this time arou༒nd✨ has reached epic proportions.
Many players are angry about the limited appeal of the pack when the game is still missing things like cars, bunk beds, and spiral staircases. While I do agree that it seems insane that we have a Millenium Falcon in the game before we can own ꦗa Ford Focus, it is refreshing to see the team enjoying the freedom of covering the majority of expected themes🎃 and truly branching out.
A Smart Move It Is
This crossover has a huge potential to bring 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:brand new players intꦛo the game. While Simmers have been enjoying the freedom of The Sims 4's free play building and♑ storytelling features for years, Star Wars fans have always been forced into following often disappointing narratives. While there are strategy games based on the sci-fi franchise, there's nothing even close to the freedom that The Sims 4 offers.
This pack will give Star Wars fans the freedom to explore the universe they love in a brand new way. It will also give Simmers the oppꦛortunity to 𒁏experience objectives and potentially a structure that we've not seen before.
Since 𒉰you'll only need the game pack and base game to play, and the later often goes on sale for under $10, while game packs retail for $20, the total cost makes it viable to purchase both and treat them as one game. This makes it a perfect franchise entry for players who may never have experienced it otherwise.
Vote With Your Wallet
It's understandable that those who hate Star Wars, sci-fi, or occults will no🅺t have any interest in this pack and that's ok. From what we can see, and what we hope, it will be mostly a self-contained experience taking place outside of the regular Sims 4 worlds. It also looks like the create a sim and build and buy options are very much themed. This means that as the pack is so niche there will likely be nothing players who don't purchase it will miss out on.
We don't anticipate there being 🌌regular pieces of furniture you may want or a new feature you are tempted by unless you love the Star Wars aesthetic. The very focused theme means that you'll be able to vote with your wallet like never before. If the theme isn't for you then I hope the next releꩲase is as exciting for you as this is for Star Wars fans.
Consider The Younglings
Until that time comes, please remember that while The Sims 4 may 𝔍be an escape and a lifeline for you, it now also has the potential to function in the same way for many othe🌸r gamers who have never played it before. At this point in the game's life cycle, there are nine expansion packs, eight other stuff packs, and 17 stuff packs. They cover parenthood, lifestyles, occults, university, and more. The Sims 3 and all its DLC packs are also still available to play.
This crossover may give a whole new set of gamers the same enjoyment, love, and escapism we've all enjoyed while playing the franchise. It's o🌃k to be disappointed in a pack's theme and it's ok to wish for things we've not seen yet, just make sure you aren't turning this into hateful comments directed at others who feel differently. DLC releases are frequent and reasonably predictable these days, meaning you're likely to have a new experience in your game by the end of the year, even if it isn't a trip to Batuu.
